The Council of Community Services of Port Chester, Town of Rye, and Rye Brook, Inc. was founded in 1974, by a group of concerned citizens, who felt more community awareness and participation was necessary to insure that unmet needs of the residents, young and old, would be addressed through private and voluntary support. When incorporated, the stated purpose was to "study, evaluate and discuss the

nature, mental health, child development, education, recreation, problems of the poor, youth, aging, drug control, environmental protection, urban renewal and local government, and to hold local meetings dealing with such concerns for the purpose of expanding community information and awareness, and where appropriate to take public positions on such issues and to work with, advise and assist and provide general counsel to social service organizations and in such instances in which it may determine that community services are inadequate or non-existing, to initiate services. Forty six years later, the Council continues to fulfill the same purpose.

📣 Rising Concerns About Youth Gambling
More and more local clinicians are seeing young people—primarily young men—struggling with gambling problems and addiction. Recent data shows that 36% of boys ages 11–17 gambled in the past year—rising to nearly 50% by age 17.
This growing trend has real impacts on our youth and community—and it’s time to talk about it.
Join Rye Youth Council, RyeACT, and M. Kim O'Connor & Associates for an important panel discussion exploring youth gambling and its effects.
