Reminder: Second Harvest Food pantry is Tuesday- 6/02/2026
Depending how long it takes us to unload the truck and fill the boxes, we should start loading cars around 10:30.
(most folks line up very early)

Follow the route.
Pacific Street, then onto OG Track Rd, then through the Athletic Complex Visitor gate and follow the gravel road around the ball fields. Exit onto OG Track Rd.

St. Landry Parish Government’s monthly dumpster site program continues TODAY and every THIRD Thursday for residents in the Port Barre/Krotz Springs area!

• Appliances
• Bedding
• Mattresses/box springs
• Pipes & rubber hoses
• Tin
• Tires
• Tree limbs/trunks less than 6” in diameter
• Washers/dryers

🚫 Prohibited items:
• Electronics
• Hazardous materials
• Lead-acid batteries
• Refrigerators & A/C units
• Mercury products

⚠️ Sandbags Available Thursday Ahead of Severe Weather ⚠️

In preparation for the severe weather expected in our area, St. Landry Parish Government will make sandbags available to residents beginning Thursday, May 21st - Friday, May 22nd, at 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Yambilee Building
1939 W. Landry St.
Opelousas, LA 70570

Sandbags will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Residents are encouraged to arrive early and take the necessary precautions to help protect their homes and property from potential flooding.

Parish President Jessie Bellard encourages all residents to remain weather aware and continue monitoring local forecasts and official St. Landry Parish Government updates.
