πŸ’™ Investing in the people who make PAISD special. πŸ’™

Since its inception just four years ago, the Marlin Legacy Foundation has donated an incredible $1.15 million to support PAISD employees. Every dollar donated is used solely to increase salaries for all PAISD staff members, helping our district recruit and retain outstanding educators and support staff for our students.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of the donors, volunteers, and supporters who continue to invest in the people serving our Marlin community each day.

πŸ“– Our trustees exemplify what it means to be lifelong learners, continually seeking opportunities to grow, lead, and better serve our students and community.

As part of the culmination of her yearlong participation in Leadership TASBβ€”a prestigious leadership development program offered by the Texas Association of School Boards β€”PAISD Board President Kristi Littleton presented to Texas Trustee Institute participants (including PAISD Trustee CJ Joyce pictured with Kristi) on effective board and superintendent collaboration practices.

We are proud of Kristi’s dedication to leadership development and her commitment to strengthening governance practices that support student success and organizational excellence.

πŸ“š School may be out for the summer, but the learning continues.

PAISD Trustee CJ Joyce recently completed the two-day Texas Trustee Institute, an intensive training program designed to help school board members develop the knowledge and skills needed for effective school governance.

We appreciate CJ’s commitment to learning, leadership, and serving the students, staff, and community of Port Aransas ISD.

πŸ“š Our PAISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent were the ones in school this week! 🏫

They participated in Team of 8 and Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes (EISO) training. These state-required learning opportunities help school board members and superintendents strengthen governance practices, focus on student outcomes, and work together as an effective leadership team.

Continuous learning isn’t just for students. We believe strong leadership requires ongoing growth, reflection, and a commitment to improving how we serve our school community.

Thank you to our trustees for investing their time and energy to support the continued success of PAISD and to uphold our Legacy of Excellence.

πŸ”§ Progress! πŸ”§

Big improvements are underway at Port Aransas High School! This summer, crews are replacing aging HVAC systems and installing new energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the campus. These upgrades will improve comfort, reliability, and learning environments for our students and staff for years to come.

These improvements are possible thanks to the passage of the 2023 bond election approved by the voters of Port Aransas. We are grateful for a community that continues to invest in our students, our staff, and the future of PAISD.

Students across all campuses had the opportunity to be entered into a drawing by trying something from each of the 8 countries featured in our Passport Meals program during the 2025-2026 school year. Students who stepped out of their comfort zones and explored new foods had the chance to win some amazing prizes, including an 8-foot signed Robert August surfboard, a longboard skateboard, a sandcastle building kit, 2 family community pool memberships for the summer, and 2 gift certificates to the Fly It Kite Shop!

These prizes support our CATCH goals by connecting kids to our community, building lifelong healthy habits, and encouraging students to enjoy all that makes our beach town special.

A special thank you to PAEF for funding this impactful project and helping provide our students with opportunities to experience new foods, explore different cultures, and make meaningful connections to our community.

Congratulations to all of our winners for being adventurous and trying new things! We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and healthy summer! β˜€οΈπŸ„β€β™‚οΈπŸŒŠ

After years of helping students ride the waves of math success, Gretchen Baughman is catching the ultimate wave... retirement! 🌊πŸͺ‘πŸ’™

At our End of the School Year Staff Breakfast, we celebrated Olsen Elementary teacher Gretchen Baughman as she begins her next chapter. Mrs. Baughman has made a lasting impact through her energy, dedication, and love for her students both inside and outside the classroom.

Thank you, Gretchen, for the countless lives you have touched and for the commitment and care you have shown generations of Marlins over the years. We wish you a retirement filled with sunshine, surf, relaxation, and plenty of time in that rocking chair!
