We remember the innocent lives taken too soon. We remember the first responders who answered the call without hesitation. We remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity that emerged in one of our nation’s darkest hours.

Nine years ago today, Hurricane Harvey made landfall, forever changing our community.

The damage was overwhelming, but our community was determined to rebuild and recover. In the days, months, and years that followed, neighbors helped neighbors, businesses reopened, homes were restored, and Port Aransas moved forward together.

Nine years later, the progress is all around us. Today, we reflect on how far we’ve come and remain grateful for everyone who played a part in rebuilding our beautiful Port Aransas.

What a great day for Port Aransas. Yesterday, Port Aransas, The Island Life sponsored a wonderful celebration hosted by Fisherman’s Wharf, announcing four new Fish Aggregating Devices installed offshore through a partnership with the Houston Big Game Fishing Club. These FADs create important offshore habitat, support healthy fish populations, and expand fishing opportunities for years to come. Thank you to everyone who participated in this investment in the Fishing Capital of Texas.

I am honored to be sworn in once again as Mayor of Port Aransas.

I’m incredibly grateful for the trust and support of this community and look forward to continuing to serve the people of Port Aransas. Serving this community has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support, encouragement, and trust this community has given me.

The Mayor’s Youth Council rolled up their sleeves for a community service project to help beautify the new Public Safety Building!

Members installed four new self-watering planters filled with fresh plants and flowers, adding a welcoming touch to this important new space for our community.

Special thanks to the Parks & Recreation Department for helping coordinate the project and install the new planters and plants!
