Clallam County GOP

Clallam County GOP This is the official page of the Clallam County GOP. We think people deserve a hand up, and not a hand out.

The Clallam County Republican Party exists to help promote the Republican belief that it is the people, and not the government that make this country so great. We believe that it is the government’s job to help people achieve all they can be, but to not run their lives for them. For our full 2012 platform, please click here:

Our page exists to help promote the Republican ideals and principals, and we hope it will be a source of information to all that visit it. As Republicans, we agree that everybody has a voice. If you choose to use yours on our page, whether you agree or disagree with us, that is fine. We ask that all comments be respectful, and free of foul language. Any posts that resort to name calling, promoting racism, or items of that nature will be deleted, and the individual may be blocked from our page.

Thomas Sowell said it years ago. "It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of who pay no price for being wrong."

Look at what oversized government does when it has control.

Look at Obamacare. It was a behemoth bill shoved through reconciliation. The House passed it 219 to 212 on March 21, 2010. Nobody read the thing.

On March 9, 2010, Speaker Nancy Pelosi told the country, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." She was right.

It was stuffed with pork. Congress and their staff were not put under the same rules they wrote for everyone else. Members were steered onto exchanges with a taxpayer stipend. Leadership and committee staff got a loophole.

Unions bought a pass. By December 2010 the Obama administration had handed out 222 waivers to employers, insurers, and unions. Thirty-four of those were unions covering more than 140,000 members.

The rest of America was stuck with it.

They called it affordable. In 2026 the average Marketplace deductible hit $3,786. That is up $1,027 in one year, the steepest jump on record. Enrollee premium payments jumped 58 percent, from $113 a month to $178.

Now the same people want government-run universal Medicare. Rep. Pramila Jayapal's Medicare for All bill has 114 House cosponsors. Sen. Bernie Sanders has the Senate version.

They paid no price for being wrong the first time. They want a bigger booth and more levers.

Limited government exists so people who do not live with the bill do not get to write it for you. Equal application of the law means Congress eats what it cooks.
