What a wonderful celebration of learning, growth, and community!

The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe recently held its annual Head Start Graduation at the House of Learning, honoring the accomplishments of its youngest learners as they prepare for the next step in their educational journey.

One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was watching the Head Start graduates walk alongside graduating high school seniors, symbolizing the path of learning that lies ahead and the support of those who have walked it before them.

Congratulations to all of the Head Start graduates and their families on this important milestone. We are excited to see all that these young learners will accomplish in the years to come!

Mr. Shyles’, Mr. Logan's, and Mr.Setubal's Port Angeles High School Science classes spent a great day exploring regenerative agriculture right here in our community at Sister Land, Bowman, and Wild Edge Farms. Students learned about the important work of farmers, ranchers, and farriers, and how they collaborate to create a closed-loop system that supports a thriving food source and healthy ecosystem.

These hands-on learning experiences help students better understand sustainability, agriculture, and the connections that keep our community strong. Here are a few snapshots from the Sister Land/Bowman crew!

A huge thank you to Port Angeles Education Foundation for helping make this incredible field trip possible!

This morning, Port Angeles High School students in Stacey Sanders’ Global Issues class had the incredible opportunity to welcome Justice Melody and Justice Whitener from the Washington State Supreme Court.

Students engaged in thoughtful conversations and asked impressive questions about the judicial system, civic responsibility, and the important role courts play in our democracy. Opportunities like this help bring learning to life and give students a firsthand look at public service and leadership in action.

PASD would like to thank Justice Melody and Justice Whitener for taking the time to visit with our students and inspire meaningful discussion in the classroom.

At the Thursday, May 21 Regular Board Meeting, the Port Angeles School District Board of Directors had the opportunity to celebrate several outstanding students and hear updates from Stevens Middle School.

We recognized our Student Representatives, Julianna Getzin from Port Angeles High School and Nura Barid from Lincoln High School, during their final board meeting. Throughout the school year, both students dedicated countless Thursday evenings to representing their schools, sharing student perspectives, and helping keep the Board informed about the many great things happening across our district. We are incredibly grateful for their leadership, commitment, and service.

The Board also celebrated Stevens Middle School Students of the Month, Isaac Wendel and Emma Kate Edwards. Congratulations to both students on this well-deserved recognition!

During the Stevens Middle School report, students and staff shared updates on the many great things happening at the middle school, highlighting student learning, activities, and programs that continue to make Stevens a great place for students to learn and grow.

PASD is proud of these students and thankful for the positive impact they continue to make in our schools and community.
