Boxes, boxes, and more boxes!! Coat delivery headed to schools!

The weather out there is frightful... but thanks to the Knights of Columbus from Queen of Angels and St. Joseph Catholic Churches, nearly 400 children in Clallam County will have new coats to keep them warm!

For several years now, the Knights of Columbus has purchased brand new coats of all sizes and the Child Advocate Program and Juvenile & Family Services team partners up to sort and deliver the boxes to schools throughout our community.

Thank you for your ongoing generosity, supporting youth in Clallam County, we are so grateful!

Congratulations to the 10 youth and their families for completing the “We’re In This Together” (WITT) Coordination of Services (COS) seminar in November!

The Washington State Coordination of Services (COS) Program is a 12-hour seminar, attended by a youth and parent or connected adult. The seminar consists of five to eight interactive sessions presented by community organizations or individuals who have a passion for working with families. The session facilitators offer interactive lessons that educate and teach participants about adolescent development, building relationships, decision making, boundaries, accountability, communication, conflict resolution, bullying, how we live in the world of “right and wrong” while the law is about “legal and illegal”, and community connections.

COS has a dual intent. First, it aims to intervene with youth and their families at an early point in their involvement with the courts to prevent further involvement in the juvenile justice system. Second, it empowers youth, improves family relations, enhances youth strengths, builds healthy relationships, offers access to valuable services in our community, and redefines our community social norms for the youth.

A special thanks to Kimberly Burns, Court Services Manager, and our many dedicated community partners and families for their time, attention, and hard work during this session!!
