One of the first signs of heat illness is muscle cramps, so if you start cramping up it's time to act:

β€” Get someplace cooler, stat β˜ƒοΈ
β€” Remove excess clothing πŸ‘‹
β€” Drink a cool sports drink πŸ§ƒ
β€” Avoid caffeine/alcohol 🚫🍸

Seek medical help if your cramps don't go away in an hour, you have heart problems, or you are on a low-sodium diet.

***WORKING FIRE***
The busy night continued for Star Hose Company volunteers with a third working fire when Box 3-2 was dispatched at 2:40 am for the garage on fire "across the street" on Ransome Street in Port Allegany Borough. Engine 3, Squad 3, and all three chiefs responded. units arrived with a fully involved garage and exposures on three sides. Engine 3 laid 600' of 5" supply hose into the scene and stretched a handline to attack the fire. Due to the quick work of the members, damage to the exposure buildings was limited to melted vinyl siding. Engine 46 from Chemical Engine #1 arrived and confirmed no extension. Rescue 48 from Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department had the RIT assignment and an ambulance from Area Ambulance Service stood by on scene. Firefighters returned to service after almost two hours.

Monday night members took advantage of the great spring weather to train on the deployment of the Blitzfire portable monitor. This tool allows for the fast setup of a high-flow stream for large fires. It can be deployed more easily with small crews than traditional β€œdeck guns.” Modern equipment like this helps us provide the best service possible to our community.
