𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘
On August 18th, 2026, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for the City of Poplarville adopted an ordinance to address traffic safety around the Upper and Lower Elementary Schools during student pickup times. This ordinance goes into full effect on Friday, September 18th, 2026. The main highlight of the ordinance is as follows:

There will be NO PARKING allowed for student pick-up on MARTIN LUTHER KING DR, DOYLE STREET and JULIA STREET prior to 15 minutes before car line students are released. For Pre-K pick-up, that's 2:15 pm on a normal school day, for all other grades at both schools, that's 2:45 pm on a normal school day. Times are adjusted for early release days and no parking will be allowed prior to 15 minutes before the advertised early release time. Any vehicles left unattended in the student pick-up line will be towed at the owner's expense. DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS OR INTERSECTIONS!! Thank you for your cooperation in helping us to provide safe passage for our students, community and emergency vehicles.

Coca-Cola Fundraiser

The Poplarville Lady Hornet basketball team is doing their annual Coca-Cola Fundraiser. Players will be selling a wide variety of Coke products by the case. This fundraiser starts September 14th and ends September 25th. Drink pick up is scheduled for Oct. 7th. Find any high school or middle school Lady Hornet basketball player and place your order today. Cash or check only. Make checks payable to Poplarville Girls Basketball. Thank you.

Homecoming Week is almost here! 💚💛

We’re excited to celebrate Poplarville High School Homecoming 2026, September 14–18!🎉 PHS students can show their spirit all week with our Homecoming dress-up days, while PreK–8 students and staff may wear jeans and spirit shirts Monday through Friday.

Let’s fill our schools with Hornet pride and make it a great Homecoming Week! 💚💛

Ms. Lee and Ms. Cindy’s 2nd-grade class had so much fun with our Pearl River Conty Fair project! We experimented with shaving cream, glue, and food coloring to explore how colors mix and change! 🎨

We started with bright colors (red and yellow) and experimented until we created orange, then mixed green to make a rich brown—just like the caramel/brown coating on our candied apples! 🍏🍯

It was so much fun watching the colors transform while learning about color mixing and physical change! Science can be messy, creative, and delicious-looking! 😍🔬Go check it out at the Pearl River County Fair Exhibits!

SIDELINE REGULATIONS & PROTOCOLS

⭐ Credentials Required: All working media members (photo, video, and press) must display an official Athletic Department Field Pass visibly at all times.
⭐ Restricted Team Zones: Media personnel must remain outside the team box (between the 25-yard lines) and stay behind the designated restraining line at least six feet back from the sideline.
⭐ Zero Unauthorized Field Access: Spectators, parents, and freelance content creators without official school clearance will be directed back to the stands immediately.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A MEDIA PASS

✅ Media outlets and freelance professionals requesting sideline credentials must contact the Athletic Department at least 48 hours prior to game day.

Ice Cream in a Bag!

Kindergarten students in Ms. Ashleigh and Mrs. Sherry’s class had a sweet and exciting way to practice the letter Ii! After learning about the letter I and its two different sounds, students made their very own ice cream in a bag.

They mixed, shook, and worked together to turn simple ingredients into a delicious frozen treat—all while making a meaningful connection to our letter of the week! This hands-on activity was a fun way to learn, explore, and enjoy some I is for Ice Cream fun!

What a sweet way to learn!

Welcome to Noun Town!

First grade students have been learning all about nouns, and Ms. Seal’s class put their learning into action by creating their very own Noun Town! Each student designed something they might find in a town- a park, restaurants, a train, and so much more.

Once everyone finished their creations, students brought them all together to build one big Noun Town! The students loved watching their creativity come to life while learning about nouns along the way!
