Fort Peck Warriors Center A Community Program for Veterans with Service-Enriched Transitional Housing at Ft. Department of Veterans Affairs

Peck Indian Reservation - A joint project of the Fort Peck Housing Authority and the U.S. The Fort Peck Warriors Center in Poplar Mt, is a residential transitional program for at risk and homeless Veterans. Our focus is on support and guidance for Veterans mainly Tribal Veterans working to return to Independence. Participating Veterans receive individual case management, staff support with relapse

prevention and daily living challenges, and assistance to accessing healthcare. FPWC offers the Aohomni Hdustanpi structured living program, which is a non 12-step support opportunity for veterans seeking a sober living environment and a pathway back to stable housing. Veterans are housed, free of charge, in a safe and stable environment. FPWC prioritizes Fort Peck veterans and Native American Veterans, but our services are available to all eligible veterans. Program length at FPWC is based on individual needs and the attainment of the treatment and life goals established by the staffing team, the Veteran’s case manager and the individual Veteran. The Fort Peck Warriors Center is taking applications for participating in the program. If you are a Veteran interested or know a Veteran who would benefit from the program, contact Ralynn Wettlin at (406) 768-3771. Monday through Friday We are also taking donations if you would like to donate anything....

On this day let's all take a moment to not just say the words, but give respect and honor the commitment to support those who have returned with challenges, traumas and scars - whether visible or invisible.
~ In gratitude for all who have served.

Hello out there to all you followers of our Facebook site for the Ft Peck Warriors Center. I am Linda Melbourne, I recently got the opportunity to be hired for the FTE Project Lead/Case Manager position. I have a 4 year college degree and I am a nurse. I worked for the Community of the Ft Peck Reservation since 2006, as a diabetic nurse. My plan to update our facility has already started with our living quarters and the overall plan to add more projects to our monthly schedule. We are planning to plant a garden next year and we are starting small now, with the growing of tomatoes and flowers to our pots. We plan on attending some pow-wow celebrations and seeing some historical events in our area. We have a couple openings for our GPD program and have 1 opening in our low income rental program. For more information regarding our GPD program and low income rental program please call 406-768-3771, Linda Melbourne.
• Healthcare is just one piece of the many challenges veterans face in getting their needs met, but it is a critical one. Our strong local partnerships with Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center, and Tribal Veterans Affairs and others are really supportive in helping to meet the range of veteran needs. As part of supporting veterans in overcoming the challenges of accessing both VA and IHS, Fort Peck Warriors Center has agreements with both I.H.S. and VA to facilitate coordinated care for the FPWC veterans, and support them in navigating the distance for services, and the complex and often confusing health systems.
[Thank you to Rehana Asmi and Parker Seibold for using their class project to highlight the struggles of Fort Peck's veterans in accessing healthcare!]
