Shoremates,

I want to summarize our reunion situation, offer some options, and open it up to suggestions:

- With only 9 people committing to the reunion here in Milwaukee this month it wasn't prudent to have a formal reunion.

- Joe Krowitz just spent a good amount of time back in Spain and doesn't feel next spring in Spain would be a good option for a reunion. Perhaps in the fall of 2023 or a year later. One thing he shared with me is that Rota now has a motorcycle rally at the same time as Feria which pretty much puts that opton off the table.

- I cannot commit to hosting in Milwaukee next spring (2023).

- We need to decide when and where we are next going to get together.

First, please don't respond to me with suggestions. Collating data from a gmail address list this large is an absolute nightmare.
The first thing that comes to my mind is setting up a Google Docs spreadsheet for suggested when and where. After we have a manageable list, we can set up a survey on the page to come to a conclusion. I know not everyone is on Facebook but I'm sure we can come up with a work around.

By the grace of God I'm incredibly busy with my business (and grateful after the last 2 years) and it appears as though that will last through at least October. Is there anyone out there willing to coordinate the determination of the next reunion?

With a heavy heart, I pass along the words from our dear friend, Chris Parker.
"Junior left this world for Heaven on February 21st. I am trying to stay busy and keep my mind on other things. I am trying to not think of the loss, but to rejoice in the wonderful memories. I have a friend whose wife passed away several years ago who told me you don’t lose those whom you know where they are. "

Hey everybody,

I want to take the pulse of the group one last time before I get a Hotel under contract for us. Presently every Hotel I talk to requires masks in the common areas. Will that be done by May? Don't know but if you could just respond with a going, not going, or undecided before I sign any contracts I would very much appreciate it.

So here is the feedback I have received on reunion dates:

5 votes for 19 - 22 May
4 votes for 28 Apr - 1 May
4 votes for any of the weekends

I'll give it a couple of more days so if you have a preference please make it known.

Looking at the calendar for next spring and cutting out the weekends that include Easter, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day...

Looking at the calendar for next spring and cutting out the weekends that include Easter, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day I've come up with the following possible weekends:

- April 21 through 24
- April 28 through May 1
- May 12 through 15
- May 19 through 22 (Armed Forces Day is the 21st)

Please let me know what your preference is.

So it looks like lights out on Feria in Spain next spring. I'm (Doug Loman) more than happy to host the reunion here in Milwaukee. And just in case you didn't know, Milwaukee is pretty well know for Beer. There are plenty of things to do here too. We got a little motorcycle company by the name of Harley-Davidson that I'm sure we can do some stuff with too - the museum is the pinnacle of spectacle. Maybe a boat cruise for the formal dinner. Last I knew Julie Hart was a tour guide on the WWII submarine in Manitowoc. About an hour away is the EAA museum. Anyways, hit me up with your thoughts and ideas and most definitely - budget concerns.
