The MyCAA scholarship for spouses of active duty service members in paygrades E1-E5, W1-W2, and O1-O2 is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses. The scholarship assists eligible spouses in pursuing licenses, certificates, certifications, or an associate’s degree to gain employment. These funds can be used at any academic institution approved for participation in the scholarship. Tonight is the night! Fort Bragg Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Main Post Parade Field.

The fun begins at 4 pm with Santa's arrival at approximately 5:30 pm.

This week I would like to highlight our Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) office. If anyone is in need of their serves, they are located in the back of the Airmen and Family Readiness Center. I did my annual Key Spouse SAPR training and was provided with this mouse pad and it has every helping agency on base listed. I think it is a great quick reference if something comes up. I was given a dozen of them so if you would like one please text me (404-441-8729) and I can either give it to you at the holiday part or I can drop it by your military members work station.

The Trees for Troops program is returning on Dec. 3, 2021 at Smith Lake! Free Christmas trees for active duty personnel E-6 and below only. Must have DOD ID Card and voucher. Vouchers will be available on a first come first serve basis at Leisure Travel Services beginning on November 29th through December 3rd until all are given out.One voucher/tree per family.

Here's how you can get a free Christmas Tree:

🎄 Get your voucher - 450 vouchers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Leisure Travel Services November 29 through December 3 or until all are given out.

🎄 Pick up your tree - Pick up you tree at Smith Lake Recreation Area,8 a.m.-10 a.m., on Dec. 3. (NOTE: You must have a DoD ID Card and a voucher, in order to pick up a tree. Without proper identification, you will not be allowed to pick up a tree, even though you might have a voucher.)

🎄 After 10 a.m., remaining trees will be given out to non-voucher holders, E-6 and below with a DoD ID card, until trees are gone.

Where: Building 560
Who: All of Team ABS and their families! If you have visiting families, bring them as well!
Times of Interest: 1130 - Start time. At this time food will be set up. Leadership will address the Squadron and once the food is blessed we will begin eating!
1200 – 1400 - Axe throwing presented to you by our UNITE coordinator, Ms. Dean!
1330 - Raffle time! We will be raffling, at minimum, at 55” Smart TV off at this time. However, you will need to be present to win! You will get a ticket for showing up and you can get more tickets by donating to the Booster Club. All proceeds will go towards our Holiday Party on 10 December.
1430 - Completion of our event.

Additionally, we will also have corn hole and activities for children.
Thanksgiving Feast
Our POCs for this event are SSgt Kilmer for Comm Flight, SSgt Bacon for LRF, SSgt Young for FSF, and A1C Smalls for Ammo. A text from blackboard was sent out today with the link for food sign up. Leadership will be supplying the meats and our UNITE coordinator will be getting desserts, rolls, and utensils/napkins.

This week we are highlighting Child Care Aware of America. At our Newcomers Briefing in October A1C Smalls and Shirt mentioned this program being very helpful for finding child care. I had never heard of this program and looked it up on line. This program not only assists in finding child care but also provides child care assistance for military families through Fee Assistance and Respite Child Care Programs.
