Medicare’s new GLP-1 Bridge program is creating another pathway for eligible beneficiaries to access certain weight-management medications.

The temporary program began July 1, 2026, and is scheduled to run through December 31, 2027. As of August 2026, it includes Wegovy, Foundayo and Zepbound (KwikPen only) for a $50 monthly copay. Ozempic and Mounjaro are not included.

Eligibility depends on both Medicare drug coverage and health criteria. Beneficiaries may qualify with a BMI of 35 or higher, or with a lower BMI plus certain conditions, such as prediabetes, uncontrolled high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, certain heart conditions, or a previous heart attack or stroke.

A standalone Part D plan isn’t required. Members of eligible Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage can qualify as well.

There are additional eligibility requirements and exclusions, so the best place to start is with a health care provider, who can determine whether the clinical requirements are met.

Have questions about how the GLP-1 Bridge fits with your Medicare coverage? We’re happy to help you understand your options.

A copayment (or copay) is a fixed dollar amount you pay for a covered service after you've met your deductible. It's your share of the cost when you visit the doctor, fill a prescription, or get medical care.

👉 Example: If your plan says you have a $20 copay for a doctor visit, that’s what you pay at the appointment. No surprises.

Copays are one way insurance helps split costs, so you’re not stuck with the full bill. Want help understanding how your plan handles copays, deductibles, and more? We’re here to help!

A Medicare Medical Savings Account (MSA) is a smart option for those who want more control over their health care spending! 💡

A Medicare MSA combines a high-deductible health plan with a special savings account funded by Medicare. You use the money in the account to pay for your medical expenses—and anything you don’t use rolls over each year!

✅ Choose your own doctors—no network required
✅ Keep unused funds year after year
✅ Great for those who don’t need frequent care

📌 Just remember: MSA plans don’t include drug coverage, so you’ll want a separate Part D plan if you take prescriptions. In addition, you must stay enrolled in Medicare part A and B, and you can't contribute your own funds to this account.

Want help figuring out if this is the right fit for you? Let’s talk!

Between screen time, seasonal allergies, and dry indoor air, your eyes are working overtime. The good news: most environmental eye strain is preventable. Try the 20-20-20 rule (every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds). Also, keep artificial tears handy, and consider a humidifier for dry indoor air or an air purifier for air that may be smoky or smoggy. Regular eye exams through vision insurance can also catch more serious problems early, before they affect your daily life.

⚠️ Do you get help lowering your monthly ACA Marketplace health insurance premium? That financial help is called an advance premium tax credit. It’s based partly on the income you expect to earn for the year, and if your actual income or circumstances change, you could end up receiving more assistance than you qualify for.

Starting with the 2026 tax year, repayment caps for excess advance premium tax credits no longer apply. If you receive more financial assistance than you ultimately qualify for, you may have to repay the full difference when you file your federal tax return.

💡 Income or household changes during the year? Update your Marketplace information promptly. Keeping it current can help reduce the risk of an unexpected tax bill.

⚠️ Still contributing to an HSA after age 65? Medicare enrollment could create an unexpected tax issue.

Simply turning 65 doesn’t automatically make you ineligible to contribute to an HSA. But once you’re enrolled in Medicare, you generally can’t make or receive HSA contributions, even if you’re still working and covered by an HSA-eligible employer health plan.

Here’s where it can get tricky: If you’re already receiving Social Security benefits when you become eligible for Medicare, you’re generally automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B.

And if you delay Medicare while working past 65, and then enroll later, premium-free Part A coverage may be retroactive for up to six months. HSA contributions made for months covered retroactively by Medicare could become excess contributions and may have tax consequences if not corrected.

If you plan to work past 65 and keep contributing to an HSA, it’s important to coordinate your HSA contributions with the timing of Medicare and Social Security.

A little planning can help prevent an unexpected tax headache.

Confused by this whole issue? We get it! Give us a call and we can help.

Many people think braces are just for teenagers — but adult orthodontic care is more common than ever.

Whether you’re dealing with crowded teeth, bite issues, or simply want to feel more confident in your smile, orthodontic treatment can offer both cosmetic and health benefits.

Straighter teeth are often easier to clean, which may help reduce the risk of cavities and gum disease over time.

Today’s options are also more discreet than ever. Clear aligners, ceramic braces, and other modern treatments make it easier for adults to improve their smile without disrupting their lifestyle.

One important factor many people overlook? Insurance coverage.

Some dental plans offer adult orthodontic benefits, while others may have waiting periods, lifetime maximums, or limitations. Understanding your coverage before starting treatment can make a significant difference in your out-of-pocket costs.

If adult orthodontic care is something you’re considering, let’s review your dental coverage together. I can help you understand your current benefits or explore plan options that better fit your needs.

A healthier smile may be more accessible than you think. Reach out today to get started.
