Friend of the Court General Information:

The Friend of the Court provides services to parties with minor children involving divorce, family support, interstate and paternity cases. We are involved if your case is heard by the Circuit Court and if there are minor children involved. Our duties are custody, parenting time, and child support. Contact the Friend of the Court:

Press Release:

The Oakland County Friend of the Court lost power today, July 24, 2025, at 12:38 p.m. On-site operations were suspended due to the outage. The Friend of the Court building at 230 East Elizabeth Lake Road, Pontiac, MI will be closed for the remainder of the day.

Please note that remote Friend of the Court operations and virtual hearings will continue throughout the day, only on-site operations are suspended.

The Oakland County Circuit and Probate Courts have adjourned all jury trials through Friday, February 25, 2022, due to surging Covid numbers throughout Oakland County.

This decision was made after consulting with the State Court Administrative Office and the Oakland County Health Department.

Jury trials are expected to resume on Monday, February 28th, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Questions about specific adjournment dates should be directed to the chambers of the assigned judge.

In light of the ongoing health emergency, the Oakland County Circuit Court is taking steps to follow all recommendations of the Michigan Supreme Court, Oakland County Executive Office, and Department of Health. Specific changes to court schedules and procedures will be posted Tuesday March 17th.
