‼️‼️Calling all current Juniors/incoming Seniors of Tangipahoa Parish School System‼️‼️

We are currently accepting applications for our High School Firefighter Training Program.

Our program is for incoming Seniors, graduating class of 2027.

We are still waiving our prerequisite of EMR. Our class is scheduled Monday-Thursday from 12:30-2:30pm and we will observe the same holiday schedule that the school board observes.

The student, nor the family, pays for anything in this class; we provide all gear, uniforms, books, and tests.

This class is only taught at our Central fire station (610 E. Pine St) in Ponchatoula, with the occasional field trip to other first responder agencies.

High school credits towards graduation will be obtained through the program, as well as nationally accredited certifications. Keep in mind that these certifications never expire, also.

The certifications obtained are as follows-
HAZMAT Awareness
HAZMAT Operations
Firefighter I
Firefighter II

Transportation is not provided at this time, unfortunately.

For further information, reach out to us or your high school guidance counselor.

Happy Mother’s Day from the Ponchatoula Fire Department ❤️🚒

Today we recognize all the incredible moms who keep families, homes, and communities strong. From the mothers serving on the front lines to the ones holding everything together behind the scenes — your strength, sacrifice, patience, and love never go unnoticed.

Thank you for the countless meals, late-night talks, words of encouragement, and prayers whispered before every shift.

To all the moms in our community:
We appreciate you today and every day.

Wishing you a safe, happy, and well-deserved Mother’s Day from all of us at the Ponchatoula Fire Department.

As the school year comes to an end, so does this year's High School Firefighter Class. We would like to congratulate these four young men on their accomplishments and dedication to this class. These four young men never gave up and persevered through every challenge we threw at them. To say we are proud is an understatement. Whatever endeavors these young men pursue, we know they will excel at them.

Our four students who completed this year's program are:
Reed Freche (Loranger High)
Cooper Herman (Ponchatoula High)
Cole Hill (Ponchatoula High)
Dawson Jones (Loranger High)

Two of our students also received individual awards.
Reed Freche received our Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA of the class.
Cole Hill received our Most Improved Award.

We would also like to thank Chief Sparacello with the Hammond Fire Dept for his help and guidance throughout this year's class.
