Pequannock Township First Aid and Rescue Squad

Additionally, the Squad responds with the Fire Departments to stand by on all structure fires.

The Squad provides emergency medical services and transportations in its' coverage area, which includes Pequannock Township, small portions of Kinnelon that are readily accessible from Jacksonville Road, and a small portion of Riverdale on Harrison Road. The Squad also engages in other activities consistent with its' mission. These activities include sponsoring First Aid and CPR classes for the ge

neral public, putting on demonstrations and lectures for schools and civic groups, and providing free loans of recuperative equipment such as crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs. The Squad is always interested in spreading its fundamental values of giving back to the community.

As the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Day 2026, the Pequannock Township First Aid & Rescue Squad officially entered its 75th year of service to the community we are proud to call home. We began this milestone year with a simple mantra: “Celebrating our Past. Building for our Future.”

Today, that message came to life as past and present members, fellow first responders, elected officials, community partners, friends, and residents gathered to celebrate 75 years of service, sacrifice, and dedication.

For 75 years, generations of volunteers have answered the call, day and night, through countless emergencies and moments of need. They have given their time, missed holidays and family events, and stood ready whenever their neighbors needed help. The story of our squad is not written in buildings, ambulances, or equipment. It is written by the men and women who proudly wore our uniform and by the community that has supported us every step of the way.

Today’s ceremony gave us an opportunity to reflect on where we have been, share stories and memories, reconnect with old friends, and honor those who helped build the organization we know today. It also allowed us to look ahead and share our vision for the future as we continue to evolve and meet the needs of our community.

To everyone who joined us today, shared a story, offered a memory, or simply took a moment to celebrate with us, thank you. Your presence made this milestone even more meaningful.

While today was a celebration of our first 75 years, it is also the beginning of the next chapter. We remain committed to serving Pequannock Township with the same pride, professionalism, and dedication that have defined this organization since 1951.

Here's to 75 years of service, and to the generations who will carry that legacy forward.

The Pequannock First Aid & Rescue Squad would like again to publicly thank Wayne Subaru, Inc. and the Lesko Family for including the squad in the recent Subaru Share the Love Event.

The donation we received will be utilized to purchase equipment that will benefit the entire community.

The squad would like to thank the students from Mahwah High School who are involved in Project HERO for the recent donation of comfort bags for young patients we encounter.

Project H.E.R.O. (Helping Emergency Response Organizations) is an award-winning initiative created by the Honors Community Problem Solving (CmPS) class at Mahwah High School.

The squad attended the Pequannock Memorial Day Ceremony this morning and the American Legion Memorial Day Awards and Scholarship Luncheon, where EMT Victoria Gaba was recognized as the Junior Citizen of the Year.

We thank American Legion Posts 242 and 450 for keeping Memorial Day in the forefront each year, and for bestowing such an honor to EMT Gaba.

As the clock strikes 7:00 PM and shift change begins, we reflect on yet another successful EMS Week.

Our members are the lifeblood of this organization, and we simply could not do what we do without them. While this week's posts highlighted many of our dedicated crew members, we also want to recognize our associate members, active-exempt members, and exempt members who work tirelessly behind the scenes, fill open shifts when needed, maintain our equipment and facilities, support fundraising efforts, mentor new members, and help keep this organization moving forward every single day.

Next Saturday, as we celebrate 75 years of serving the community we proudly call home, we hope our residents take a moment to reflect on what it means to have a volunteer EMS organization. Our members not only provide the highest quality emergency medical care at absolutely no cost to those we serve, but they also dedicate countless hours away from their families, careers, and personal lives to ensure that help is available whenever the call comes in. Whether responding to emergencies at 2:00 in the morning, training to sharpen their skills, maintaining our ambulances, or supporting community events, their commitment never stops.

For 75 years, generations of volunteers have answered the call. We are incredibly proud to continue that tradition today.

We would like to recognize First Responder Madison Dabice who is not only a squad member but also serves the community as a firefighter with Engine Company 1.

As EMS Week comes to a close, I would like to thank all of our members, who selflessly volunteer to serve our community day in and day out. You sacrifice time, energy, sleep and often miss family events to make a difference in the lives of others. Thank you for answering the call, every single day.

Meet your Friday Night Crew:

Every Friday night, while most people are kicking back after a long week, this crew is standing by ready to answer whatever emergency comes their way. From serious medical calls to those calls that leave everyone scratching their heads, they never quite know what the next dispatch will bring.

What they do know is that they'll spend the night helping their neighbors, while debating dinner plans for far longer than necessary, and reminding each other that "it'll probably be a quiet night" is something you should never say out loud.
