Can we all make a little (a lot!) of commotion for the leaders who have been foundational to what we see in our communities today? A round of applause for Mr. Ralph Adderly! Mr. Adderly is the former Executive Director for the Housing Authority of Pompano Beach. We could not be more grateful for the path he laid so that the residents of Pompano Beach would see more affordable housing options in our city.

Behind every ribbon cutting is a team that made it happen. The Provident Place grand opening was a celebration of 100 units of affordable senior housing in Pompano Beach, but it was also a celebration of the people who worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.

A big shout out to our HAPB staff and partners like KEITH, Vestcor, AMBAR3, FIRST FLORIDA, TD Bank, Broward County HFA, R4 Capital and Raymond James! Thank you for proving that when the right people come together around the right mission, communities are transformed.

Yesterday, we cut the ribbon on something truly special.

Provident Place is now open. 100 units of beautiful, affordable housing for seniors right here in Pompano Beach. With 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments designed with dignity and comfort in mind, it is not just another building, it is us working to keep the promise.

We are grateful to be able to provide affordable homes to those we should take the best care of, our seniors.

We're deeply grateful to everyone who showed up. Thank you to Mayor Rex Hardin, District Commissioner Beverly Perkins, Commissioner Alison Fournier, and School Board Member Sarah Leonardi. Your presence reminds us that housing is a community priority.

And none of this happens without the partners who believed in this vision from the start:

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the joy and brilliance of one of our staff members, Ms. Lisa Rogers-Cherry. She is a cherished addition to the Housing Authority of Pompano Beach family.

Please join us in congratulating Lisa for being selected by her co-workers as the Housing Authority of Pompano Beach’s Employee of the Month!

As Program Manager, Lisa is dedicated to creating and developing housing opportunities while connecting residents to services that help strengthen families and improve the overall quality of life in our community. She is always building meaningful partnerships and looking for new ways to better serve others.

With nearly 30 years in Community Development, Lisa has spent much of her career helping more than 1,000 individuals to achieve homeownership. As the only child of a single mother, she learned the importance of budgeting, saving, and hard work at an early age. Watching her mother design and coordinate the construction of her childhood home sparked a lifelong passion for community and housing development.

Lisa’s heart for service shines through in everything she does. Her personal motto, “I’m blessed to be a blessing,” reflects the care and compassion she brings to both her work and the people around her. One of her favorite community events at HAPB has been the Golden Acres Holiday Toy Giveaway, which brought joy to so many families.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys laughing, traveling, praying, exploring new places, and trying different foods. She is the Author of the book “Lifting the Burdens of Debt.” Lisa is the proud Mom of two amazing children, Chayla and Charles III.

Watch until the end. We loved talking to Fletch during today's site visit. His passion shines through. Today, we did one of our final walk throughs of the newest property to come online at the Housing Authority of Pompano Beach. Big love to our partners making Provident Place a reality including Nelson & Associates, First Florida, and so many more behind the scenes. This is what community looks like! 🏠❤️🏡
