🎉 Meet Haley Hopkins and Isabelle “Izzie” Rodriguez, two students joining the University Library’s Special Collections and Archives (SC&A) as members of Cal Poly Pomona’s inaugural cohort of PolyX Scholars!
💚 Haley is a senior majoring in Computer Information Systems and plans to graduate in Spring 2027 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Haley is also a student worker in Collections, Acquisitions, and Resource Discovery Services (CARDS).
“I’m excited to join Special Collections and Archives, give back to my community and peers, and embody Cal Poly Pomona’s ‘Become by Doing’ spirit! This valuable experience will prepare me to continue my education after graduation and earn a Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS).”
💛 Izzie is a junior majoring in Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology who plans to graduate in Spring 2028. She was inspired to apply for a position with SC&A after attending a Horses for Heroes presentation in the Special Collections and Archives Processing and Instructional Lab.
“I am very excited to join the Special Collections and Archives as a PolyX Scholar, where I can learn hands-on archival skills, see authentic collections and learn everything I can about archival processing and digital preservation. I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and making the most of this invaluable opportunity!”
