As you all know, the Pomona Pride Center is hosting our Inaugural GayLa on Friday, October 8th from 6-10:30pm! This is a SOLD OUT event! Yay! We are looking for and accepting DONATIONS for our Silent Auction/Raffle. Perhaps you have gift cards sitting around that you know you won’t use, or other items that you are willing to donate. All funds raised with benefit the Pomona Pride Center and our efforts to find and secure a permanent location. If you have items you would like to donate, message me and we can arrange for a pick-up. We greatly appreciate your willing to help this amazing organization! Receipts will be given to those who donate! Thank you!

Last call for performers!!!! We have spots still open for our Virtual Zoom Variety show taking place on October 9th. We would absolutely love for you to perform a song, poem, or anything you choose. We are holding a brave, safe space for artists to share in their creativity and vulnerability. This talent show will be held as a fundraiser for Black Trans Femmes in the Arts Collective. We will also be putting Venmo’s of the artists during their performances in order for them to have an opportunity for possible donations. BREAKING NEWS!! The California School Employees Association (CSEA) local chapter 14, one of the oldest in the state has voted to officially endorse incumbent Board Member FRANK GUZMAN for his seat on the Board of Education in Pomona Unified School District (Trustee Area 3). CSEA represents over 250,000 school support staff throughout the state. These members represent an array of essential workers in our public schools as well as community colleges, including security, food services, office and clerical work, school maintenance and operations, transportation, academic assistance and paraeducator services, library and media assistance, computer services and more.

This endorsement is significant! CSEA is the backbone to our district. We can not operate without these members. These same members are our neighbors, they live in our neighborhoods and they care about the well-being of the students and our community. We will continue to work with one another to ensure that Pomona continues to prosper educationally.

President of the Pomona Chapter 14, Mariana Orozco stated “Frank has always been supportive of our chapter and never frays from member engagement. He cares about the safety and well-being of our kids and CSEA members. He has provided the leadership we need in Pomona and we are ready for 4 more years!
