Tomorrow, Oct 15, 2025 the water district will be working on a small leak on the Airport road by Scocog. If any water needs to be shut off for this it will affect residents on Cr 1510 (fire station, county shed road), 1390 (Pomona Christian Church), 2340 (airport road) and 1330 (old hwy 63) north of the railroad overpass. We apologize for any inconviences this may cause and will have services restored as quick as we can (we won't know until we see what we have and what it takes to fix it). - Water District Management

It is October already and this year has gone by quickly. Yes, it's still warm out right now but as you all know things can very well change. This is our annual reminder for folks to be pro-active and have your homes ready for winter. Make sure your pipes are insulated. Make sure your shut-off valves are working (excercise them twice a year) and you have a main shut off valve in your home. Please make sure your water meters are accesible to the district in case of emergency shut-offs (remove tall grasses, brush, etc). Make sure your crawl spaces and vents are closed. Mobile homes have underpinning that likes to work loose, that's also a good way for cold air to find pipes.
And also remember that when it's time to leave the pipes at a small drip, that it's much easier to pay $3 for a thousand gallons of usage, which most homes won't use that much extra, than $100 or more for a plumber, especially for those on fixed incomes (retired).
And finally, we do have some business cards for plumbers here at the office. We do not prefer one over the other. And for any plumbers seeing this, if you haven't restocked or brought business cards by please do so and we can hand those out to our customers. - Water District Management

We have a water line break on U hwy that is affecting U hwy, N hwy and some of 1740. The guys are working on it now. Not sure how long water will be off but they are hurrying!! Sorry for the inconvenience

Not related to water but just a heads up - Burlington Northern is shutting down the RR Crossing on N highway starting tomorrow Sept 24 and Sept 25. You can detour around on cr 1390 by Pomona Christian Church to cr 1330/vice versa (Old hwy 63) And go from there.

The water district phones will be down for the rest of the day. Lightning hit Current's internet service (which our phone works off of) and they are working on it. If you have any issues/need to call us please come to the office. We are open until 4 p.m.

During times of trouble no matter how big or small you will see many stories of utilities helping each other especially with Show-Me Power and Howell-Oregon Electric. We are overly blessed to have such neighbors in the water business as well. Just recently we had a leak under our #2 well. We found the plumbing to it was needing addressed and it was going to take some time. Praise God we have 2 wells, 2 towers, and can also borrow water from the Industrial Park as part of emergency operations (we didn't have to this time, just ran the whole district on 1 well, never lost pressure). We got borrowed parts from our neighbors the City of Willow Springs, West Plains and personnel from Public Water District #3 (Willow Springs Rural area). PWSD #3 stayed with us through the whole entire thing.
We want to thank all our neighbors for the help and ideas they gave us. We help them back as well and have been to some of their emergencies. And we're here anytime for them.

In observance of Labor Day, the water district office will be closed Monday, September 1st, 2025. All normal operations will resume Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 at 8AM. If we are needed for an emergency ONLY, please call 417-469-4014 to get directed to our after hours contact - water district management

The water district will be working on a water main leak in the morning by Immanuel Baptist Church on N Hwy. This could affect customers on N Hwy west of Cr 1510 (fire station road) to the Railroad crossing and Cr 1370 (north and south of N Hwy). The water district will be doing some line work out N Hwy tomorrow July 24, 2025. Theres a chance we will have to shut some water off real quick to change out a meter set. If we do, customers affected will be East of U Hwy on N Hwy and possibly along U Hwy as well. The water district will be flushing lines today July 16, 2005. Mostly on the north end of the district. If you feel a slight pressure drop this should be why and only temporary. If you see water running down the road, don't panic as it is more than likely from a hydrant - Don Eddie Wheat, water district operator

The water district will be making repairs on a small water leak on Cr 4690 tomorrow Tuesday, June 17. This will only affect those living on that county road and 4 residents to the west on P highway. Should any water be shut off we will have it back on as soon as possible and apologize for the inconvenience. - Water district management
