Kathleen Sposato spent some time going through the final town budget this past week and tried asking her questions at last week's Town Meeting. (They were NOT answered) There’s a lot that has changed from the original draft. Kathleen pulled everything together into a simple breakdown, along with a few questions she thinks residents deserve answers to. If you’re trying to make sense of it all, this should help:

Last night’s Town Meeting left more questions than answers. After reviewing the final budget booklet alongside the Board of Selectmen draft, it’s clear that many meaningful changes were made—but without a straightforward explanation of how or why those decisions occurred. For residents trying ...

What an incredible two days at the Connecticut State Republican Convention! 🇺🇸❤️
It was inspiring to network with some of the most caring, supportive, forward-thinking people of integrity from all across Connecticut — people who truly care about making our communities and our state better for everyone.

I'm especially proud that we represented Pomfret strong, sharing what makes our little town in the Quiet Corner so special and highlighting the passion so many of us have for positive change and civic engagement.

And what an exciting moment to help nominate some of the most impressive candidates Connecticut has seen in a long time. Congratulations to our Republican nominees:

Ryan Fazio for Governor
Peter Lumaj for Secretary of State
Jen Tooker for Comptroller
Fred Wilms for Treasurer
John Bolton for Attorney General
Dr. Amy Fogelstrom Chai for Congress (CD-1)
George Patrick Austin for Congress (CD-2)
Chris Lancia for Congress (CD-3)
Dr. Michael Goldstein for Congress (CD-4)
Chris Shea for Congress (CD-5)

The energy, ideas, and dedication in that room gave me so much hope for our state's future.

Thank you to everyone who made these past two days so memorable and for the opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Onward and upward! 🇺🇸✨

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Pomfret Residents Secure Referendum Vote Through Broad Bipartisan Support
POMFRET, CT — Thanks to strong bipartisan support and a shared commitment to civic participation, residents of Pomfret have successfully gathered more than 200 signatures to petition for a full-day referendum vote on this year’s town matters.

Traditionally, Pomfret holds an Annual Town Meeting followed by a limited voting window in which residents cast paper ballots in person. This year, the Pomfret Republican Town Committee helped facilitate a town-wide petition effort to expand access to the voting process through a referendum format, allowing more residents the opportunity to participate and have their voices heard.

The petition effort received support from residents across the community who share a deep commitment to Pomfret and a desire to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible fiscal decision-making for the town’s future.

At this time, the Registrars of Voters are in the process of validating the submitted signatures as part of the official referendum process.

The Pomfret Republican Town Committee would also like to sincerely thank all Pomfret residents who took time out of their day to sign the petition and participate in the process. The strong community response demonstrated the level of civic engagement and care residents have for the future of the town.

“We are grateful for the overwhelming support from residents throughout Pomfret,” said representatives involved in the petition effort. “This was about participation and ensuring residents have an opportunity to vote on important matters affecting the town.”

The successful petition reflects the strong civic engagement that continues to define Pomfret and demonstrates residents’ ongoing commitment to the future of the community.

Additional details regarding the referendum voting date and procedures will be announced by town officials following completion of the signature validation process.
