Tony Emilio’s Campaign Responds to Mischaracterization in Woodstock Villager Letter

The Tony in ’26 campaign is disappointed by a mischaracterization in today’s Woodstock Villager letter to the editor by Charlie Tracy, which claims that our campaign has questioned Emilio’s opponent’s integrity. That is not accurate, and it is not our position.

Tony Emilio has never questioned his opponent’s integrity. Tony Emilio's campaign has committed to running a clean, issue‑focused race that respects our neighbors and invites honest disagreement on policy. That commitment remains in place.

This election is about the future of the 50th District and how best to serve our
communities. Voters deserve a debate grounded in facts, respectful of all candidates, and centered on the policies that affect our communities.

Both candidates want a campaign that encourages young people to get involved in politics. Democracy’s future lies with them, and we will continue to model the kind of civil, issue‑focused discourse we hope to see from our leaders and in our local media.

Emilio’s campaign welcomes robust disagreement on the issues. We do not welcome inaccuracies that distort our record or our intentions. We ask that future coverage and commentary reflect what has actually been said and done in this race.

Had a great afternoon speaking with Eastford residents yesterday. A common topic of discussion was about affordability in Connecticut. People are ready for a change and hope for continued representation beyond the election.

The Town of Pomfret is seeking applicants for a part-Time Assistant Treasurer position. Responsibilities include handling town funds, account reconciliations, purchase orders and invoices, transfers and expense entries, and other financial support duties.

The deadline to apply is August 31, 2026.
