Collecting more signatures outside today at Baker's Dozen from now until 9 am followed by more circulators available to come to you and sign if you'd like. We have a petition to bring this controversial vote to a full day referendum so more people have access to vote on it and to give us more time to get the facts.

To date, the town hasn't shared the lease agreement, official site plans, or the actual RFP with us and they expect you to make a decision on this 20+ year commitment off of a commercialized slideshow and some advertising sound bites.

I've heard them talk very briefly about helping offset our property taxes and some simple math shows that's pennies on the dollar while this developer is making millions and millions to sell energy back to Eversource who sells back to us at the third highest energy costs in the country with public benefits charges on top of that! If that's not bad enough, we have our very own fire chief sending what they expect to be internal emails to the entire department pushing this vote because somewhere he claims he's been told they're getting 10% minimum of this revenue and seemingly already has plans for it despite the town having no public meetings or discussions about this. He also claims there have been discussions about the Selectman's office stating they'll meet with all department heads about spending this money. So what's going to be left for taxpayers? NOTHING

Lots of facts have been shared about what statewide Planning & Zoning commissions say about large commercial solar developments on beautiful land like ours. They widely are against it. Green Teams don't traditionally support this type of development on this type of land, either. Why does ours? Have they been promised things with this money behind closed doors just like the Fire Department has mentioned???

In 2017, the same people spinning a narrative of support on this and trying to strongarm a passing vote on this, were writing letters to the editor against rushing to develop and asking us to consider Pomfret's rural character. What's changed besides the political affiliation of the person pushing it? This land costs us nothing and has paid for itself as you'll see from the 2017 letter to the editor in the comments.

Lastly, what proof is there that we'll get this much money? I've now requested on 3 occasions some actual revenue numbers from Green Skies on other similar projects they've built. I was given a picture of projects with their respective sizes, WITHOUT their revenues. The Board of Selectmen are NOT answering questions despite their advertisements stating otherwise.

We can't vote on something without the facts! Demand answers and time, let all Pomfret residents weigh in on this. The cafeteria only allows 400 people at max capacity and we have a lot more registered voters in town. Do the right thing Pomfret.

Hi friends and neighbors in Connecticut’s 50th District! 🇺🇸

I’m asking for your help to support Tony Emilio’s campaign for State Representative. To qualify for the state’s public financing program (the SEEC Citizens’ Election Program grant), Tony must receive at least 150 individual donations from residents of the 50th District.

A simple $5 donation from you will count toward that 150‑donation threshold and move Tony closer to qualifying for critical state funding for his campaign.

If you live in the 50th District, please take a moment today to chip in $5. Every small contribution helps Tony get the resources he needs to run a strong, community‑focused campaign.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️ Link to donate: https://secure.anedot.com/tony-in-26/contribute

Pomfret deserves facts, not a rubber stamp.

We STILL have no lease agreement, no official RFP, and no formal site plans—only glossy marketing slides with projections and zero real revenue numbers or answers about which distressed towns will profit off our land.

This vote SHOULD go to a full-day referendum, not a one-night town meeting in a cafeteria capped at 400 when we have far more voters. Every resident deserves a real chance to vote.

If you want this brought to referendum, message me to sign the petition. You can also stop by Baker’s Dozen tomorrow between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.—circulators will be there with petitions ready.

At Wednesday night's meeting the First Selectman said "there is no phase 2, there never was we never discussed it".

Rewind back to 9 days prior at that Board of Selectmen meeting (she was in attendance) and the presenter with the commercial slideshow she's selling as a "proposal" discussed phase 2 and room left for battery storage in another phase so the town didn't have to "contemplate too much too soon" and because they need to usher the solar panels in (first) before those tax credits go away .......

Take this walk with us and really look around — this is what our town is about: forest, trails, wildlife, peace. 🌿 Now ask yourself: are we seriously talking about trading this away for a best‑case $200 break on your tax bill for one year? Our taxes will keep climbing, but this land, once bulldozed for a commercial solar field, is gone forever. And what happens when the developer cashes out, goes out of business, or walks away? We’re stuck with 25 acres of industrial scar tissue to clean up on our dime, and the wildlife that calls Murdock home doesn’t get to come back. Meanwhile, Connecticut already has some of the highest electric rates in the country, and this developer stands to make big bucks selling power to Eversource, only for it to be resold back to us at a premium. So who’s really benefiting here — Pomfret families, or a private developer chasing profits on public land? This is a bad deal for our town: short‑term crumbs in exchange for a permanent loss of something we can never replace. Who is actually looking out for Pomfret families?
