The Pomeroy Mayor’s Court that was scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026, has been cancelled. Those individuals that were scheduled to appear will be re-scheduled for Monday, February 9, 2026, at 5:00pm.

On 01/08/2026, Pomeroy Police Dept. and Middleport Police Dept. executed a search warrant at a residence on Wolfe Drive in Pomeroy, Ohio. Officers located a large amount of suspected illicit methamphetamine, fentanyl, crack co***ne, and prescription opioid pills. Officers also located several drug-related items, such as, glass smoking pipes, small plastic baggies, and other drug paraphernalia items. A male suspect, Christopher Burris, was arrested and will be charged with multiple counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and misdemeanor drug offenses. (All suspects are presumed not guilty, until found guilty in a court of law)

On 12/23/2025, the Middleport Police Dept. and Pomeroy Police Dept., with assistance from a Syracuse PD officer, executed a search warrant at a residence on Mill St. in Middleport. Multiple suspected illicit drugs and drug-related items were discovered during the search. A male suspect, Kevin Harris, was arrested at the scene. Mr. Harris was charged with multiple felony counts of Trafficking in Drugs and Possession of a Controlled Substance, along with several misdemeanor drug offenses. (All suspects have the presumption of innocence until found guilty in a court of law)

Under-speed Vehicle permits can now be issued in Pomeroy. A USV instructions and inspection packet can be picked up at Pomeroy PD Monday-Friday during business hours. Inspections can be done at Pomeroy Police Dept. on Mondays from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. and Fridays from 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m.

On September 12, 2025, Pomeroy Police Dept. and Middleport Police Dept. executed a search warrant on Lincoln Heights in Pomeroy, Ohio. Officers seized approximately 20 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, a firearm, and other drug-related items. Jerry A. Stone, 41, of Pomeroy, was arrested and is being charged with various felony and misdemeanor offenses. (Special thanks to Rutland PD for assisting)
