Hello everyone,
Welcome to the first newsletter of your Gann Cemetery Association. We hope everyone is doing well. We wanted to share all the exciting things that are happening at our cemetery.
First, for those who haven’t heard, we have a new road! It was long overdue and much needed. No more pot holes. With the county keeping the ditches clean and free of debris, the cemetery looks quite lovely this spring. We greatly appreciate the county’s support.
We have a large project that we are working on. We are going to need your help. As you know, we are running out of room unless we can acquire some more land. So it is imperative that we locate the unmarked graves and get an updated map as soon as possible. Texas law states that there must be plot identity for all burials. So a corrected and updated map must be done.
The cost is around $37,000.00 which would entail finding the unmarked graves using GPR(ground penetrating radar), collecting current burials that includes a photo of the headstone. This will be implemented into an online mapping system which we could edit and keep updated. It would also be available for the public to view.
We are very blessed and thankful that the community has always been generous in their support. This cemetery operates solely on donations. Maintenance averages around $23,000.00 per year. So we ask that you remember this project when making your donation.
Homecoming will be September 9,2023 this year. We look forward to seeing all of you there.
We have also had to finally increase the burial donation. It is now $500.00 and creamans burials that are buried in existing graves are$100.00. Effective immediately.
The board thanks you for your continued support.
Thank you,
Gann Cemetery Association Board

ATTENTION GANN CEMETERY FAMILY.
With inflation and rising cost to maintain the cemetery, the board has had to make the call to raise the price of the burial donation to $500.00 . Cremation burial was raised to 100.00 if buried in a plot that is already occupied by a loved one. We regret having to raise the donation price. it is Effective immediately. ALSO to be buried in Gann Cemetery you must have family already buried there or get permission from the board. We still have one of the lowest burial donation price in the area. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any questions you can call Delores Reynolds, President of Gann Cemetary Association, at 936-707-2296 or 936-465-8343.
