🎆 Fireworks Reminder –
Fireworks are permitted only on July 3rd and 4th in Polk City. Please enjoy the holiday safely and follow these important guidelines:

🚫 No Fireworks on Public Property
This includes parks, trails, and all city-owned facilities. Violations may result in citations.

👶 Age Restriction
Anyone under 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian to use consumer fireworks.

🚫 No Use Under the Influence
Fireworks must not be discharged by individuals under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

🕒 Permitted Hours:
• July 3: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
• July 4: 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Officers will be enforcing violations with citations issued to violators.

Sgt. Sherman received the Iowa DPS Commissioner's Award for Impaired Driving Enforcement at the annual Governors Traffic Safety Conference.

Sgt. Sherman received the award for his efforts in removing impaired drivers from our roadways, his leadership in the impaired driving enforcement efforts of our agency, and his commitment to training in impaired driving enforcement. Sgt. Sherman is a supervisor on the evening and night shifts, a Standardized Field Sobriety Tests Instructor, trained in Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement skills, and the agency's representative with the Central Iowa Traffic Safety Task Force.
