Our auxiliary was part of the SAL detachment 15 Memorial Day parade. This was the 97 year for this program. We honored the four chaplains of the Dorchester at the post home, honored those lost at sea at the bridge by the town hall, and had the ceremony in beautiful historic Riverside cemetery. Never forget those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

We remember

Today is .
On April 9, 1942, U.S. forces fighting on the Bataan Peninsula surrendered to the Japanese. Following their surrender, thousands of American and Filipino soldiers were forced on the Bataan Death March, a brutal 65-mile march to a prison camp, where many died due to harsh conditions and mistreatment.
Today, we honor all those who sacrificed so much in service to this nation, including their own freedom. Also in our thoughts are their families, who sacrificed waiting for their return.

Every March 29, we honor and recognize the 3 million servicemembers who were deployed and served in the Vietnam War. 🇺🇸 March 29 was chosen to remember the last U.S. combat troops who departed from Vietnam on March 29, 1973. On and around the same day, Hanoi released the last of their acknowledged prisoners of war. The end of the war is recognized to be the Fall of Saigon, which happened April 30, 1975, with civilians and U.S. personnel evacuating. There are more than 58,000 deaths documented and inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. ❤️

To all Vietnam veterans, your service mattered, and it will never be forgotten. We are forever thankful for your courage and the sacrifices you made for our freedom. Today and every day, we honor you.
