The members of the Poland Fire Department are out at the Lowellville Rod & Gun Club today for their annual Kids Day! 🚒🎣

We're excited to be part of this great event and help make it a fun and safe day for all the kids and families attending. Stop by to meet our firefighters, check out the fire apparatus, and say hello.

We'll be here until 3:00 PM. We hope to see you there!

This week, June 1st-7th, we recognize the importance of CPR and AED awareness and the lifesaving impact these skills can have in our community. When a cardiac arrest occurs, immediate CPR and early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can significantly increase a person’s chance of survival.

We encourage everyone to learn CPR and become familiar with the location of AEDs in public places. You never know when you may be called upon to help a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor during an emergency. If you, your family, or co-workers are interested in being trained in CPR and AED usage, call the fire department at 330-757-8268 to schedule a day to complete the training.

A few hours of training can make the difference between life and death. Together, we can build a safer, more prepared community.

Today District personnel and Association members fulfilled our annual mission to mark the graves of former Poland firefighters in Riverside cemetery. We also recognize firefighters from other departments who are buried here, including a retired captain of FDNY Engine 75. Pictured graves below include those of all retired Poland chiefs-Johnston, Blackman, Wegele, and Chinowth.

This is one of the many reasons we do what we do here at the fire department. While not every call has an outcome like this, these are the moments we remember and cherish. They remind us why we show up each and every day to serve Poland and the surrounding communities.
