๐ŸŒŸ FUTURE LEADERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN POINT BORO! ๐ŸŒŸ

What makes Point Boro such a special community? Young people like Madison, Maggie and Olivia, who are already stepping up and making a difference! ๐Ÿ‘

Mayor Sabosik and Councilwoman Coulson recently joined our local Girl Scouts at Riverfront Park to unveil an exciting new addition โ€” a Gaga Ball Pit designed and constructed by Madison, Maggie and Olivia as their community service project for the Girl Scout Silver Award! ๐Ÿ…

Never played Gaga Ball? Itโ€™s a fast-paced, fun and gentler variation of dodgeball played inside a waist-high enclosed arena. Players use their hands to hit a soft ball toward one another below the knees, with the last player remaining crowned the winner!

This new addition will give kids another fun way to get outside, stay active and enjoy Riverfront Park for years to come.

Most importantly, itโ€™s a great example of what can happen when young people take an idea, work together and turn it into something that benefits their entire community.

๐Ÿ‘ Great job, Madison, Maggie and Olivia! Point Boro is proud of you!

Itโ€™s been a fantastic month celebrating and supporting the businesses that help make Point Pleasant such a great place to live, work, and shop!

Mayor Sabosik, Councilwoman Coulson, and the Borough Council were proud to join the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce in welcoming several outstanding new businesses to our community:

๐Ÿ“ Pearl Coastal Boutique
๐Ÿ“ Bogota Savings Bank
๐Ÿ“ Rose & Opal Boutique
๐Ÿ“ Salon Jolie
๐Ÿ“ Almanac Advisory Business Consulting

A thriving small business community is the backbone of The Boro. Itโ€™s exciting to see new businesses choosing to invest here while joining the many outstanding establishments that already call Point Pleasant home.

We encourage everyone to shop local, dine local, and support local whenever you can. Every visit makes a difference, and together we can continue to keep our local economy strong.

Congratulations and welcome to all of our newest businessesโ€”weโ€™re glad youโ€™re part of our community!

โ›ˆ๏ธ Important storm update from our Point Pleasant Borough Office of Emergency Management including our Cooling Center being activated. โšก๏ธ

โš ๏ธ Storm Update โ€“ Point Pleasant Office of Emergency Management โš ๏ธ

Last night's powerful storm caused significant damage throughout Point Pleasant, bringing down numerous trees and utility poles across the community.

At this time, approximately 31% of the borough is without power. JCP&L crews are actively working to restore service; however, no estimated restoration time has been provided.

Several roadways remain closed, and multiple traffic signals are currently out of service. Please use extreme caution when traveling and expect delays.

The Point Pleasant Office of Emergency Management and the Borough's governing body remain in contact with JCP&L and are closely monitoring restoration efforts.

Cooling Center Open
A cooling center has been established at Point Pleasant Borough Hall and will remain open until 5:00 PM today for residents in need of relief from the heat. (We are unable to accept pets in the cooling center)

Emergency Operations Center
The Point Pleasant Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated and available to assist residents with storm-related questions.

๐Ÿ“ž Storm Assistance (EOC): 732-892-3434 ext. 133
๐Ÿ“ž JCP&L Outages: 1-888-544-4877

Please remember:

๐Ÿšง Obey all road closure signs and detours.
โš ๏ธ Never approach or touch downed power lines. Always assume they are energized.
๐Ÿšฆ Treat intersections with non-functioning traffic signals as four-way stops.
๐Ÿšจ If you have an emergency, dial 911 immediately.

We ask for your patience as crews work to restore power and clear roadways. This storm impacted not only Point Pleasant but much of Ocean County and the surrounding region. Restoration efforts will take time, and we appreciate everyone's cooperation as we work through the recovery process.

We will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available.

๐ŸŽ“ Congratulations to the Point Pleasant Recreation Preschool Class of 2026! ๐ŸŽ“

Yesterday, Mayor Sabosik and Council President Veni had the pleasure of joining our preschool graduation ceremony to celebrate a very special group of young students as they take the next step in their educational journey.

Our Recreation Preschool has been a cherished part of the community for many years, providing a fun, nurturing, and enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and build lasting friendships. We are incredibly proud of these future leaders and all they have accomplished.

Thank you to our Recreation Department staff and dedicated teachers whose hard work, patience, and commitment make this program one of the very best around.

Congratulations, graduates! We canโ€™t wait to see all the amazing things youโ€™ll achieve in the years ahead. ๐ŸŽ“โญ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning as we gathered on this solemn day to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Mayor Sabosik and the Borough Council were also proud to recognize Andrew Barten as this yearโ€™s Ceremonial Grand Marshal for our Memorial Day Ceremony. Mr. Barten, a United States Marine who served from 2001โ€“2005, including combat service in Iraq during Operations Phantom Fury and New Dawn, delivered heartfelt remarks about his love for our country, our community, and the brothers-in-arms he served alongside who never made it home.

Today, and every day, we honor all of our nationโ€™s service members throughout history who gave their lives defending the freedoms we hold dear. We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and their legacy. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Mayor Sabosik and members of the Borough Council were honored to join Where Angels Play Foundation for the unveiling of new playground equipment at the Recreation Center on River Avenue. ๐Ÿ’™

The Mayor along with Councimembers Veni & Coulson also presented a proclamation to the foundation recognizing all their efforts.

This beautiful playground was dedicated in memory of young Billy Paterno and will serve as a place where children and families can laugh, play, and create lasting memories for years to come.

The project was made possible through the incredible efforts of NJ State PBA members, local PBA members, firefighters, and Borough DPW employees who volunteered their time to help build the playground. Funding was provided through generous donations collected by Jersey Mikeโ€™s Subs.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring this meaningful project to life and honor Billyโ€™s memory in such a special way. This playground will stand as a lasting reminder of community, compassion, and hope for future generations.
