Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on 9/11 and honor the resilience of the American spirit. We remember the first responders, everyday heroes, including the brave civilian mariners who aided in the evacuation, and all those who answered the call of duty. On that day, and in the days that followed, Coast Guard men and women, like so many others, stood ready to protect our nation. We remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding our shores and protecting our people.

Be aware of dangerous rip currents!

As hurricane season gets into full swing and named storms begin making their way up the coast, we remind beach goers to be alert and head all warnings prior to entering the water.

At approximately 8 a.m., CG Sector Delaware Bay received a report of a 28-foot recreational vessel that had run aground near Belmar, New Jersey.

Sector watchstanders deployed a 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet who arrived on scene to assist.

All four mariners aboard the grounded vessel were transported by Coast Guard small boat to EMS ashore. The four mariners were brought to Jersey Shore Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

The grounded vessel has been towed by a commercial towing company to Shark River Hills Municipal Marina.
