We welcomed Dr. & Mrs. Brad Johnson and family to campus last week as the next president of College of the Ozarks. On his first day, he prayed with the campus family, visited with students in their workstations, washed dishes in the cafeteria, and took a "backstage" tour of The Keeter Center. Please enjoy this "First Day" video, produced by senior Jackson Bliss, a video production major at College of the Ozarks.

Remembering Bob Good
January 2, 1927 – September 20, 2020
Bob Good was the son of the legendary R.M. “Doc” and Lyta Davis Good. He grew up on campus experiencing the School’s many struggles during the Depression, graduated in 1944, and served his country during WWII. I’m privileged to have visited with him on several occasions during my archives career and heard numerous stories about his parents and life on campus. At 93, he may have been our oldest living graduate.

Our famous fruitcakes are one of the longest traditions in our history. In 1973, the new two-tone gold design was introduced on the cover of the Ozark Visitor. This familiar tin was rebranded recently, upgraded to this attractive four-color design that includes the five-fold mission on the perimeter.

The lighted McLaughlin Fountain was constructed in 1963 and graced the entrance of the new Lyons Memorial Library, its babble creating a pleasant background for conversation and study. As with the goldfish pond and Lake Honor, it was also a convenient source for many a prankster who tossed in unfortunate friends during birthday celebrations or for no reason at all. The fountain was later used as a flower bed and was removed during the construction of the McKibben Center.
