In addition to emergency response efforts, TOEM, and the Fort Hall Fire Department have been working proactively to prepare the community for wildfire season. During the district meetings in May, staff presented the, “Ready, Set, Go!” Wildfire preparedness program, educating residents on the importance of creating emergency kits, developing family evacuation plans, and how to stay informed during wildfire emergencies.
Community preparedness remains a priority as agencies continue to enhance emergency planning efforts. TOEM is currently developing district- specific maps to help residents better understand evacuation routes and procedures during emergencies. The completed maps will be presented to the community in the near future.
Officials encourage all residents to take steps now to prepare households for wildfire season and remain engaged with ongoing preparedness initiatives designed to keep the community safe.
