Week 3 of Academy 26-01 starts tomorrow and our four new recruits to the PFD have been hard at work learning about their equipment, firefighter survival, and RIT skills. This week they'll get into the nitty-gritty of hoselines and fire attack! In 8 short weeks these young bucks will be ready to serve you 24/7 as your newest Pocatello Firefighters!

Did you know?
Your Pocatello Firefighters staff the HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) Regional Response Team VI for the State of Idaho.

That means there is a specialized team right here in Pocatello made up of dozens of highly trained HAZMAT Technicians ready to handle a wide range of hazardous materials incidents. These responses include, but aren’t limited to, radiological emergencies, railcar incidents, industrial and residential releases, waterway spills, over‑the‑road hazards, and the identification of unknown substances.

Last week, five of your Pocatello Firefighters spent a full week in Boise participating in advanced HAZMAT training. Events like this allow our team to refresh critical skills, stay current on evolving information, and learn new techniques and procedures to better protect our community.

May 19 is voting day!
Your Pocatello Firefighters have endorsed Jeff Hough and Samantha Damron for Bannock County Commissioners, Senator Jim Guthrie for District 28, and Representative Rick Cheatum for District 28A.

These leaders have all demonstrated, or are committed to, strong support for public safety and community protection. With growth and expansion comes increased risks and hazards for our community, and we believe these elected officials are the right choice for the future of Bannock County, and the state of Idaho.

We might be biased… but your Pocatello Firefighters just might be the most generous around.

We’re committed to supporting our community in more ways than one. Not only do we show up every day for emergencies, we also recognize the needs around us and step up by donating to nonprofits throughout our community.

Serving Pocatello on and off duty is a privilege!

Congratulations on retirement, Chief!
