Phi Alpha Theta ISU

Phi Alpha Theta ISU Phi Alpha Theta (ΦΑΘ) is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history. ISU co-hosted this meeting in 2006.

Idaho State's chapter, Chi Rho, supports student and faculty scholarship and the wider community. ISU's Chi Rho chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society, recognizes students for their academic achievements and organizes a variety of programs that extend the study of history outside the classroom. In recent years, student members have sponsored a variety of activities includin

g public lectures by nationally significant historians, a field trip to the historic town of Chesterfield, a community-wide panel discussion on Pocatello history, a presentation by alumni on career options in history, and several book sales. Each year the chapter sponsors members to present their research papers at the Phi Alpha Theta Pacific Northwest Regional Conference, the nation's largest student history conference.

Sitting at my desk last February, I once again envisioned a summer in which I would get 36 hours of work out of every 24.
