Attention City Creek trail users! Williams Pipeline needs to do more work around the 911/Lifeflight trail starting on 9/14. The trails will be closed from the top to where they intersect with Prison trail. Signage will be posted. Please respect the trail closure for your safety and the safety of the workers.

Ross Park climbing areas will be closed this weekend for the Pocatello Pump!

❗️Attention Climbers!❗️

Ross Park Climbing Area will be CLOSED for the Pocatello Pump, Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12.

Sunny Side: Closed ALL day both Friday and Saturday
Shady Side: Closed ALL day both Friday and Saturday

Please be considerate of this closure and DO NOT try to climb during this time. This closure is to promote the safety of all climbers.

If you would still like to climb during this time, register for the Pocatello Pump at isu.edu/outdoor

The Ross Park Rendezvous, sponsored by OrthoIdaho is this Saturday at Lower Ross Park!

Packet pickup for registered racers will be Friday from 4-6:30 at the Rec Center. If you haven't registered and would like to, you can take care of that on Friday during packet pickup.

Late registration will be from 7:15-7:45 at the race.

Our women's mountain biking skills clinics are fast approaching! Thursday, 9/10, from 5:30-7:30pm is our fundamentals clinic and we still have spots remaining. Registration is open until Wednesday at noon.

🚨 Construction Alert!

Work will begin this week on the Upper City Creek trailhead in the area around the new vault toilet. The toilet will be closed along with the trail that follows the waterline. Please obey these closures for your safety and the safety of the crew. This will also allow the contractor to complete the work as quickly as possible. There may also be short, periodic closures of City Creek Rd. (the dirt section above the gate) to allow the contractors to move equipment in and out.

The red lines on the photo identify the closed trail as well as the construction zone.

Looking for trailwork volunteer opportunities? We've partnered with Portneuf Valley Trails Alliance to create a public calendar on their website where you can find all upcoming opportunities around Pocatello with various agencies and groups. We've also added major trail races and events to the calendar so you can stay up to date.

The remainder of the August and September calendars are updated, and we're looking for volunteers to help out with these projects, which will improve our trail systems for everyone.

New to trail building? No problem, we'll teach you.
Afraid you're not strong enough? It's about technique, not brute strength, and there are a variety of tasks on each project.
A bit intimidated? We have great volunteers and crew leaders who welcome you into the crew!

Unfortunately, this year, it's been a struggle to get volunteers. If everyone who uses the trails could sign up for just one day, we could complete an incredible amount of maintenance and improvements on our trail systems!

Have an idea or potential trail project? Let us know!

🚨 Update: feedback has been incorporated into the final draft of City Creek Trails Master Plan, which will soon be released and sent to Council for adoption. Stay tuned!

Sign up for our Caribou Cyclocross race and/or Caribou Fun Run at the nordic center. Both are scheduled for October 10th, which, if like last year, will be a fall paradise with clear skies, crisp air, and brilliant aspens!

You can even have a dual sport day and register for both! Proceeds from the fun run support the Pocatello Cross Country Ski Foundation
