Street sweepers are currently performing their regular sweeping schedule.

PATCHING
The Street Services crew will be patching potholes and curb lines throughout the City; the work may result in intermittent lane closures and delays. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.
PAVEMENT MARKINGS
Traffic Operations crews are repainting crosswalks throughout the City, weather permitting. The work will continue for the remainder of the season. There will be intermittent lane closures while crews are painting. Drivers are advised to watch for traffic control devices and avoid driving through fresh paint. Please use caution and expect delays while work is being performed.
MILLING AND PAVING
The Street Services crew will be milling and paving the streets listed in the schedule below. There will be intermittent lane closures while work is being performed, with restricted access to residents. No parking will be allowed on these streets from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or until work is completed. Vehicles parked on the street will be towed to the nearest side street. Residents are asked to clear the road in front of their house of any obstructions (i.e., basketball hoops, garbage containers, etc.). The schedule may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather or breakdowns. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the work areas.

WATER DEPARTMENT CONSTRUCTION NOTICES
September 8, 2026 - The Water Department will be replacing a fire hydrant at 9217 Pocatello Creek Road. Please expect traffic control measures and possible delays in the area.
September 8 - 10, 2026 - The Water Department will begin replacing the main water line on West Wyeth Street from Main Street to Grant Street. Please expect traffic control measures and possible delays.
September 8 - 10, 2026 - The Water Department will be installing a main water line and making a connection on Deon Drive. Please expect traffic control measures and possible delays.

Syringa Lane will be reduced to one lane between Pocatello Creek Road and Sego Street from Monday, August 31, through Friday, September 11, 2026 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for sewer service repairs. Motorists are advised to use caution, watch for workers and equipment, and use alternate routes when possible.
STATON COMPANIES – THE MONARCH BUILDING - 244 WEST CENTER STREET
The Monarch Building, a historic brick structure at 244 W Center Street in Pocatello’s Downtown Historic District, is undergoing demolition. Center Street between Main Street and Union Pacific Avenue, and Union Pacific Avenue between Clark Street and Center Street, will be closed for construction staging and access during demolition. Work is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2026. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for workers and construction equipment in the area.

ISU BENGAL BLOCK PARTY – MLK JR WAY & S 8TH AVE – CADET FIELD
The 2nd annual Bengal Block Party will take place Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Martin Luther King Jr Way. MLK Jr Way between Memorial Drive and S 8th Ave will be closed from 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM to ensure the safety of participants during setup, the scheduled event, and takedown. Expect increased pedestrian traffic and vehicle delays in this area. Please use caution and consider alternate routes. ANNUAL 9/11 COMMEMORATION – BANNOCK COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING
Join the Bannock County community for their annual 9/11 Patriot Day Community Commemoration in honor of the anniversary of September 11, 2001. The event will start at 5:30 PM on Friday, September 11, on the front steps of the Bannock County Courthouse (624 E Center St) for a flag-raising ceremony to honor the lives lost twenty-five years ago. Dinner will be provided by the Veteran Services Organizations at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building (300 N Johnson) immediately following the program. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and watch for pedestrians.
PORTNEUF FUN RUN SERIES - ROSS PARK RENDEZVOUS
Saturday, September 12, 2026, is the final run with the Portneuf Valley Fun Run Series 2026. It will take place around the Ross Park area. Streets that could be impacted include S 4th Avenue and S 2nd Avenue. The event’s scheduled time is 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Expect increased pedestrian traffic and vehicle delays in this area. The Curbside Cravings food truck event will continue to be held at Lookout Point, 426 West Lewis Street in Pocatello, every Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM through September 21, 2026.
