Pocahontas-County Economic Development Commission PCEDC leads initiatives to increase economic opportunity, assist businesses, promote community betterment and improve quality of life in Pocahontas County.

The Pocahontas County Economic Development Commission (PCEDC) is a county-wide economic development organization representing Pocahontas County, Iowa’s rural areas and nine communities: Fonda, Gilmore City, Havelock, Laurens, Palmer, Plover, Pocahontas, Rolfe, and Varina. The purpose of PCEDC is to promote and encourage economic development; to encourage unity and cooperation within the County; an

d to improve a higher quality of life in cities, rural areas, and neighborhoods. PCEDC strives to enhance, develop, fund, and implement programs to encourage and support the quality of life in Pocahontas County through cooperative economic development efforts. PCEDC's mission is to increase economic opportunity through business formation, job creation and appropriate business and community development strategies for the citizens of Pocahontas County.

The Pocahontas County Kids Showcase is the perfect opportunity for K–6 youth to experience the excitement of showing animals—no experience (or animal!) needed!

💚 We’ll match each participant with an experienced 4-H or FFA mentor
💚 Kids get hands-on learning in a fun, supportive environment
💚 AND they’ll get their moment to Show & Shine in the arena!

This is all about building confidence, trying something new, and creating unforgettable fair memories
