Their courage, dedication, and selfless commitment to protecting the freedoms we enjoy each day will never be forgotten. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a solemn reminder of the price that has been paid for our liberty.

Silver Alert Cancellation – Missing Endangered Person Located

The Plymouth Police Department reports that Mr. Wilbur White, who was previously reported missing and the subject of a Silver Alert, has been safely located.

Mr. White was recognized by an ECU Health Police Officer in the lobby of ECU Health Beaufort Hospital. He has since been confirmed safe, and no further assistance from the public is needed at this time.

The Plymouth Police Department would like to thank the public, partnering agencies, and ECU Health personnel for their assistance and vigilance in helping ensure a safe outcome.

The Silver Alert has been officially canceled.

Silver Alert Issued – Missing Endangered Person

Plymouth Police Department – Plymouth
Date: April 20, 2026

The Plymouth Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing endangered individual, Wilbur White.

On Monday, April 20, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers were notified that Mr. White had not returned home as expected. According to a family member, Mr. White left his residence at approximately 10:30 a.m. stating he was going to Food Lion and would return within approximately 20 minutes. He has not been seen since.

Description of Missing Person:

• White male
• Approximately 6’00” tall
• Approximately 180 pounds
• White hair and white facial hair

Last Known Clothing:

• Blue pants
• Blue coat
• Blue and white Hawaiian-style short sleeve shirt

Vehicle Information:

• Silver 2010 Toyota Camry
• North Carolina registration: BAR-5347

Mr. White is considered endangered due to medical conditions that may impair his cognitive abilities. He may be without necessary medication. Additionally, he has difficulty walking, typically uses a cane (which was left at home), and may have difficulty speaking and hearing.

Officers have checked local businesses and surrounding areas within the town but have been unable to locate Mr. White. He has been entered into NCIC, and a BOLO has been issued to surrounding agencies.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Wilbur White is urged to contact the Plymouth Police Department at (252) 793-4680 or call 911 immediately.

The Plymouth Police Department extends our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Danny Wobbleton, who passed away on April 1st.

Councilman Wobbleton was a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about the Town of Plymouth and the people who call it home. His commitment to improving our community and his willingness to serve will not be forgotten. He was not only a leader, but also a neighbor, a friend, and a valued member of our community.

During this difficult time, we ask that everyone keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. May we all honor his legacy by continuing to work together to make Plymouth a stronger and safer place.

Rest in peace, Councilman Wobbleton. Your service and impact on this community will always be remembered.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

Plymouth, North Carolina – On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at approximately 1:34 a.m., officers with the Plymouth Police Department responded to the area of Latham Avenue after hearing multiple gunshots. At nearly the same time, Washington County Communications began receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting the incident, including one advising that an individual had been shot at 110 Latham Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located Devonelle Brimage, a 36-year-old male, unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. A second victim, Avione Linquad Webb, a 38-year-old male, was located in the rear seat of the vehicle also suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. An 8-month-old child was also present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

After securing the scene, Washington County EMS arrived and began life-saving measures. Mr. Brimage was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Webb and the infant were transported to Washington Regional Medical Center. Mr. Webb was later transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina, for further treatment. The infant was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

This incident remains under active investigation. The Plymouth Police Department is being assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Banks extends his appreciation to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for their prompt response and assistance during the initial stages of the investigation.

We have not had any reports in Plymouth of the scam in the photo, but we are hearing of it in the surrounding areas. DO NOT scan the QR code if you get this. It is a SCAM.

Scammers may:
🔹 Call or text pretending to be law enforcement, government agencies, or utility companies
🔹 Demand immediate payment using gift cards, cash apps, or wire transfers
🔹 Threaten arrest or service disconnection if you don’t pay right away
🔹 Ask for personal or financial information

Please remember:
❗ Law enforcement will NEVER call and demand payment over the phone
❗ Do NOT share personal information with unknown callers or messages
❗ Do NOT send money to anyone you do not personally know or trust

Two Arrested in Connection with January Shooting Incident on E. Main Street

Plymouth, N.C. – On Monday, March 16, 2026, Plymouth Police Department officers made two arrests connected to a January incident involving multiple victims and gunfire on East Main Street.

At approximately 11:26 a.m., officers took Jah’Barie Rayquan Ford, age 20, of Plymouth, into custody at the Washington County Probation Office. Ford was served with a warrant for arrest, File No. 26CR255313-930, charging him with one count of Felony Inciting a Riot stemming from the events of January 2, 2026. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held under no bond pending a judicial review.

Later that same day, at approximately 2:25 p.m., officers also took Cameron Dalan Cross, age 19, of Plymouth, into custody at the Plymouth Police Department. Cross was served with warrants for one count of Felony Inciting a Riot (File No. 26CR255353-930) and one count of Misdemeanor Discharging a Firearm in City Limits (File No. 26CR255362-930). Cross was presented before a magistrate, held under no bond until conditions of release are set by a judge, and transported to the Washington County Detention Center.

These arrests follow an ongoing investigation into a January 2, 2026 disturbance that occurred around the 500 block of East Main Street. Officers responding to the scene found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds: a 19-year-old male with a leg injury, a 51-year-old female with an arm injury, and a 26-year-old female with a neck injury. Preliminary investigation determined that a fight among several individuals escalated, leading multiple suspects to fire weapons.

The Plymouth Police Department has obtained additional warrants related to the incident, and further arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.

The Plymouth Police Department extends its appreciation to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and other assisting agencies for their support in this case.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE – SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Plymouth, North Carolina – On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at approximately 7:49 p.m., Jeffrey Haughton II, 36, of Roper, North Carolina, voluntarily surrendered at the Plymouth Police Department in connection with outstanding arrest warrants related to the fatal shooting of Quadree Khalil Pettiford, 31, of Plymouth.

The shooting occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, and has remained under active investigation by the Plymouth Police Department.

Upon surrendering, Haughton was taken into custody without incident and processed. He was subsequently transported before a magistrate and formally served with arrest warrants related to the homicide investigation, as well as an Order for Arrest for Felony Probation Violation.

Chief Louis Banks stated, “I would like to personally thank our officers for their professionalism, dedication, and efforts in handling this investigation. HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – ARREST WARRANTS OBTAINED, SUSPECT WANTED

Plymouth, North Carolina – On Monday, February 16, 2026, at approximately 7:32 p.m., officers with the Plymouth Police Department responded to 308 West Water Street, Apartment C, in reference to a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located Quadree Khalil Pettiford, 31, of Plymouth, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Washington County EMS provided medical assistance and transported Pettiford to Washington Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation identified Jeffrey Haughton II, 36, of Roper, North Carolina, as the suspect in this incident. Warrants have been obtained for the following charges:

• First Degree Murder
• Breaking or Entering with Intent to Terrorize or Injure
• Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

Haughton is currently wanted. Law enforcement officers are actively attempting to locate and apprehend him.

This incident is believed to be domestic-related. At this time, there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.

Chief Louis Banks stated, “This was a senseless act of violence, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time. The Plymouth Police Department is fully committed to pursuing justice and holding the individual responsible accountable for his actions. Our investigators will continue working tirelessly, and we urge anyone with information to come forward and assist us.”
