Questions the media should be asking Walz....if he ever takes questions;

Under your administration you had the largest surplus ever in State history. Yet you spent nearly all of it and STILL raised taxes. Why should the voters expect you to be able to control spending or lower taxes at the Federal Level?

If you were currently a teacher in MN, and a student named Mike came to you and wanted help transitioning...and wanted to be called Michelle in your class. She is concerned that he parents wouldn't be supportive. What is your role as his/her teacher? And what should the school do with this information?

As the Governor in MN during the George Floyd riots....there was no attempted to stop the riots for three days, and government buildings were abandoned to the crowd....which burn them down. Why should any world leader who gets a visit from Tim Walz as part of a Harris/Walz administration have any expectation that the US would stand up to violence or hostile activity?

As a teacher and/or a leader in the military....if you saw someone under your employ or command calling a fellow student or team mate "weird," what would you do? Isn't that the definition of bullying? Is this the sort of behavior you will be modeling to our schools and military?

As an educator, can you explain why MN has one of the highest expenditures per student in the nation, but MN still has the highest achievement gap in the country? And why has MN dropped in it's national standings in education while at the same time getting some of the highest increases in education spending in history?

Flash idea. Joe announces he won’t run. Have a short four week special of The Apprentice. Each week 25 percent of the candidates are “fired.” The votes are all democrat delegates. After four weeks you are left with one candidate.

I’m willing to bet DT would be willing to host…but if not you could get anyone. It would be a ratings hit!

I don't post much, but obviously recent events deserve some commentary.

My first thought is....democrats owe an apology to Dean Phillips and Mr. Hur. Both of them were spot on....and now aren't even mentioned....despite being savaged at the time.

Second, there is nothing wrong with Joe's mental ability. He has the ability of an 81 year old. I had parents that made that age. They had neither Alzheimer's nor dementia. My parent were brilliant in their prime. Given time they were able to competently run their lives, including complex details about their finances and other things. The problem is, not all things allow for "given time." We had the conversations were they no longer were allowed to drive. My mother wasn't allowed to cook (which really hurt her....because she loved to cook). They both made those decisions. They declared that they were giving those things up. Too many near misses...small accidents...and embarrassing tales made them realized that they were no longer capable for THOSE particular things. It's possible to be no where near your prime and yet not be suffering dementia.

The problem with Joe is that his "job" requires more than driving....more than cooking...and doesn't provide the luxury of "taking your time" to make a rational decision. Joe is operating as a standard 81 year old. I don't think he should be President, let alone the candidate for 2024. Was he competent at 76? Probably. Will Trump be competent in 2028? Maybe. What we DO know is Joe isn't right now. Joe isn't as sharp as Trump. These things are known...and obvious. To hear anything else is gaslighting.

For most of the past four years four years my feed (from my liberal friends - yes, I have some) has had a recurring meme......"if you ever wondered what side you would be on in 1930s Germany...now you know."

Well, we are now LITERALLY seeing it play out again. Do you think the Jews felt much different in 1930s Germany as the allies of the government in power held rallies calling for their genocide?

And just like that....I no longer see those memes asking about what side people would be on in the 1930s.

How to view the campaign so far.

Well, tomorrow is the NH Primary. It's one for the record books in both parties. I'm here to give my thoughts on the Republican site.

First, Iowa did exactly what Iowa always does. It narrows the field. It gives the opportunity for someone with limited cash but strong organization to make their case. There were about five candidates who Iowa reviewed quite carefully, and they made their judgment. They traditional "three tickets out" held true. Then comes NH.

NH is a little different. It resembles the entire US more than Iowa does. It's still very white, so Democrats don't particularly like it selecting their candidates...but it works pretty well for republicans. It, like most of the country, is more liberal than conservative, but it's full of people who take their role VERY seriously, and NH liberal is NOT the same as a southern liberal, a CA liberal, or a NY liberal. So liberals in NH often vote in the Republican primary...because they want to shape the electorate. There are traditionally three tickets out of NH - unless the winner also won Iowa. In that case it basically becomes a two person race (democrats are a different story).

So what are we to make of tomorrow's race? Personally I think Nikki is our best bet as a party. Personally I'm tired of losing because we refuse to compromise. The idea of "I'd rather lose than win with Rinos" has gotten us to where we are today....a House with the slimmest majority in history when we could have had the greatest majority in history. It has given us a Democratic Senate. It has lost us many governors. The idea that there is something noble in defeat while sticking to your principles is true in folk tales and songs...but it's anything but true in politics. While I disagree with democrats in almost every respect....I admire how they stick together. It doesn't matter what you do as a democrat.....as long as you have the D after your name on the ballot, they will rally around you.

Republicans, on the other hand, simply REFUSE to play that way. We are likely to elect Trump despite the polls that show he cannot attract moderates and he cannot even get "never Trumpers" to vote for him. We will go into November with our weakest national candidate who is statistically within the margin of error in the polls with Biden - the President with the LOWEST approval ratings in history.

Does Nikki have a chance of wining in NY? Yes. A CHANCE. If she does, can she win the nomination? Doubtful. Statistically she is the party's best chance in November, but realistically she only has a path if she out and out wins tomorrow. Not a close second - an actual win. If she doesn't....her best bet for the future of the party is to do a DeSantis....pack it up and prepare for 2028.

My personal expectation is that Joe will NOT appear on the ballot in November. If that's the case then there is only ONE other candidate that Trump could possibly beat (Kamala). I doubt that the dems will be THAT stupid. But we can hope!

This is the day that I like to remind people that MLK Jr was a Republican. And that the voting rights act was supported by republicans, and that the only party that judges by the content of one’s character instead of the color of their skin is the Republican Party.

The only argument Nikki or Ron should be making at this point in time is...."There is nothing wrong with being a Trump fan...but if you want to win in January but lose in November, vote Trump."

Both Nikki and Ron poll better in the general than Trump does....and I'm tired of losing to Democrats.
