Summer Reading Program
“Plant a Seed and Read” Begins JUNE 9
The Greater West Central Public Library District is excited to announce its 2026 Summer Reading Program, Plant a Seed and Read, beginning Tuesday, June 9, and continuing every Tuesday through June 30.
Children and families throughout the community are invited to join the library for a fun-filled month of stories, activities, games, snacks, and hands-on learning centered around gardening, nature, farming, and growing a love of reading.
Programs will be held weekly at the following locations and times:
Golden Public Library — 9:00–10:00 a.m.
Bowen Public Library — 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Augusta Library — 1:00–2:00 p.m.
Plymouth Public Library — 3:00–4:00 p.m.
This year’s summer reading adventure will feature exciting activities including stories inspired by Llama Llama Red Pajama, homemade ice cream, outdoor-themed snacktivities, sensory bins, and a giant blow-up obstacle course. Children will also enjoy crafts, interactive learning experiences, and opportunities to explore the wonders of nature while building important reading skills.
Library staff are looking forward to welcoming families for a summer packed with imagination, creativity, and community fun.
“Summer reading helps children continue learning while school is out, but it also creates lasting memories,” library staff shared. “We are excited to see children and families grow their love of books through Plant a Seed and Read.”
All programs are free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to contact their local library branch or follow the Greater West Central Public Library District Plymouth on social media for additional updates and event information.
