Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

We at the Plymouth Sunrise Rotary feel so lucky for the relationship we have with the Salvation Army of Plymouth. They are not just a building that we hold our weekly meetings in. We partner with them for the greater good of our community. The Sunrise Rotary is working on the first stage of a project to help do some work to the outside of their property on Long Pond Rd. In addition, P.A. Lander’s generously donated the mulch to help with the first stage of our project. We’ve attached some pictures below. The long-term plan for this will be to put in some bushes and a sprinkler system.(If anyone has some connections in these areas and knows of any companies that could help please let us know.) A heartfelt thanks to our very own Rob and TIffony for leading this charge and putting in some manual labor to help make this all happen! We love being part of a community that support supports each other!🩷

Did you know that the Plymouth Sunrise Rotary gives out scholarships to students from all of our area high schools? One of the things we really love doing is going to the ceremonies from each school to present our awards and meet the student recipients. We were so excited to be able to attend Rising Tide Charter School’s award ceremony and present Antwone Allen with a $1,000 scholarship! We wish all of the graduates luck on future endeavors!

The Earlyactors (Plymouth Sunrise Rotary’s Elementary Group) from West Elementary School had the opportunity to hand deliver their donations to South Shore Community Action Council this week! Once there, they learned more about food insecurity and helped to stack the shelves at the food bank with their donations. This dedicated group of students is realizing firsthand their impact in the community and how they can make a difference!

We were so excited to induct State Representative Michelle Badger into the the Plymouth Sunrise Rotary this morning! (If you’re interested in learning more about all of the wonderful ways this group helps our community please reach out to organize a day to sit in on one of our meetings!)

Come down to the Plymouth Library today from 12-2 and help us in collecting food items and gift cards for the Library’s Adult Literacy Students!Please consider making a donation. Your generosity can change lives in our community! (We are volunteering today as part of the Rotary Day of Service!)

Wonderful morning as the Plymouth Sunrise Rotary put together flowers and delivered to local nursing homes in our area for residents. (Special thanks to Stevens Florist for a great rate on the flowers and the Salvation Army for letting us use the gym to assemble!)

Sunrise Rotary Club of Plymouth is at touch a truck at the Old Colony YMCA in Plymouth selling raffles for our upcoming wiffle ball tournament which will be held on June 27th. (Raffle prizes include a TV, Grill, Patriots Tickets, Celtics Tickets, Golf Foursomes and More!) Come on down, there is face painting, food trucks, and all kinds of big trucks!
