Looking for something to do this weekend? Pop into the Adams National Historic Park for an informational tour about farming in 1787.
It's hard to imagine today, but when John Adams purchased Peace field in 1787 it came with 80 acres of farmland. John Adams and some of his fellow Founding Fathers saw farming as an expression of their patriotism. For this Ranger's Choice talk, join Ranger Richard as he discusses John Adams and his life as a farmer.
This talk will take place outside of the Carriage House on Peace field (135 Adams Street, Quincy, MA). Street parking is available, or it's a 0.4 mile walk from the Quincy Center T Station. This talk will occur on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Please call the Adams National Historical park Visitor Center at 617-770-1175 with any questions.
