On Friday February 16th, 2018 at approximately 1644 hours, The Plymouth Borough Police Department was dispatched to CVS, 125 East Main Street for a report of a robbery. The responding Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the 91 year old female victim. She relayed two males ripped her purse from her arms, and fled the area on foot, as she was attempting to enter CVS. Plymouth Police were able to obtain video footage from the area, and positively identified the male who ripped the purse from the victim’s hands, who was familiar to Officers.
On Tuesday February 20th, 2018 at approximately 1057 hours, multiple Officers of Plymouth Borough Police Department went to 407 East Main Street in search for the male. Officers knew the male frequently visited said address. Upon making contact at said address said male was observed inside the residence and fled once he observed the Officers. Officers took chase, catching the male who attempted to hide in the bathroom and was taken into custody. Officers identified him as a 17 year old male. He was petitioned as a juvenile and custody was released to Juvenile Probation.
At this time the victim’s property was unable to be located. If anyone should find a Black Vera Wang purse with bright flowers on it, they are asked to contact Plymouth PD at 570-779-2147 or Luzerne County 911.
