This Memorial Day weekend, members of the Plymouth Police Department — alongside a small group of our “next generation” officers — continued one of the department’s most meaningful traditions. Together, officers and their children spent Saturday at the cemetery cleaning memorial areas, tending to gravesites, placing flowers and American flags on the resting places of the fallen, and laying wreaths in their honor.

These moments matter. They remind us that Memorial Day is far more than the unofficial start of summer. Behind every flag is a name, a family, a story, and a sacrifice made in service to this country. We also remember the families left behind — those who continue to carry the weight of that sacrifice every single day.

It is our honor to help preserve these spaces of remembrance and to teach the next generation the importance of respect, gratitude, and service. Traditions like this ensure that those who gave everything are never forgotten.

As we spend time with our families this weekend, we encourage everyone to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day — honor, sacrifice, family, and remembrance.

We remember and honor all those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the loved ones who continue to carry their legacy forward.

The Plymouth Police Department became aware of an assault after a concerned citizen contacted us regarding a video posted on the “All Things Plymouth” page.

The video, disturbing in nature, appeared to show a female being assaulted by two male individuals. This incident was taken very seriously, and officers immediately began an investigation.

Through investigative efforts, officers were able to identify all parties involved. It appears the incident occurred approximately 6–8 weeks ago in the downtown area. After speaking with the female victim, reviewing the video evidence, and interviewing both male suspects, criminal charges are being pursued.

The Plymouth Police Department will not tolerate acts of violence within our community. We are grateful to the individuals who brought this incident to our attention and continue to appreciate the partnership and vigilance of our residents.
