Smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to impact air quality in the region. The current Air Quality Index (AQI) in Plymouth Meeting is 269, which is in the VERY UNHEALTHY category. These levels can cause health issues in those with vulnerabilities.

What you should do:
Stay indoors as much as possible and keep windows and doors closed. Keep air conditioning and fans on to remain cool.

Run your air conditioning on recirculate if available.

Avoid strenuous outdoor activities and exercise.

Check on family members, neighbors, and others who may be more vulnerable to poor air quality.

***ALERT***ALERT***ALERT***ALERT***ALERT***

Pennsylvania American Water has issued a BOIL WATER ADVISORY effective at 5:20 pm on July 6, 2026. The BOIL WATER ADVISORY includes areas of Fairfield Road, Jefferson Street, Volpe Road, Penn Road, Regatta Circle, Plymouth Boulevard, Boyer Boulevard, Northview Boulevard, and the Plymouth Flats Apartments.

From PA American Water

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (July 6, 2026) – Pennsylvania American Water routinely monitors the conditions in the distribution system. Earlier today, there was a loss of positive pressure in the distribution system due to an equipment failure. A loss of positive water pressure is a signal of the existence of conditions that could allow contamination to enter the distribution system through backflow by back pressure or back siphonage. As a result, we are issuing a boil water advisory for customers in the affected area.

The Plymouth Township Emergency Management Division is monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as they are received from PA American Water.
