The Mount Pleasant Public Library strives to be a warm and welcoming center of discovery: through books, media and programming we hope to connect people to ideas, and to each other, in order to enrich their lives and the overall life of the community. The Library is a joint municipal library supported by the Town of Mount Pleasant and Village of Pleasantville. The Library received its charter from

NY State in 1965 and serves residents, students and workers in the Town of Mount Pleasant, outside the incorporated villages, and the Village of Pleasantville. The Main Library is located in the Village of Pleasantville, at the intersection of Bedford Road and Romer Avenue. The Branch Library is in the Town of Mount Pleasant Recreation center on Lozza Drive.

The Main and Valhalla Branch Libraries will be closed Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7, for Labor Day Weekend.

The Main Library will once again be open on Sundays from 1–5 pm starting next Sunday, September 13, 2026.

We have one week to go in our summer reading program! Monday, August 24th will be the last day for kids and teens to pick up prizes at the Main or Valhalla Branch Library. Our adult program will finish on August 27th!

Make sure you’ve (Adults) submitted your book reviews and bingo sheets by August 27th, (Teens) logged your minutes on readsquared, and (Kids & Early Childhood) submitted your reading booklets to redeem your prizes and be entered into the respective grand raffles!
