🎉 Yesterday, the Pleasantville Fire Department was proud to bring back a beloved tradition — our Annual Field Day with Pleasantville’s fifth graders!

This event has been a cornerstone of our community outreach for years, and after a COVID-era hiatus, we couldn’t be happier to have it back. It was a fantastic day connecting with the next generation of Pleasantville residents — and a great reminder of why community is at the heart of everything we do.

EARLY MORNING STRUCTURE FIRE — N. 3RD STREET

At 7:08 a.m. yesterday morning, the Pleasantville Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 block of N. 3rd Street for a reported structure fire.

When crews arrived, occupants were being evacuated from the single-story home with the help of Pleasantville Police and our firefighters. Crews encountered moderate smoke throughout the residence and located a smoldering fire inside. A full search of the home was completed to make sure no one else was inside.

One occupant was transported by Tricare EMS for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported, and all of our personnel returned to service safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

We want to thank the Pleasantville Police Department and TriCare Medical Transportation for their teamwork on scene. A quick, coordinated response is what keeps our neighbors safe.

A huge thank-you to City Wide Towing for helping the department out this weekend. We recently received a shipping container through DPW to replace our old storage shed, and City Wide made the placement possible.

🚒🪜🔥🔥 Annual Live Fire Training 🔥🔥🚒🪜

Over the course of several days this past week, Pleasantville Fire Department members completed our annual live burn training evolutions at the Atlantic County Fire Academy.

Crews rotated through multiple days of real fire conditions, focusing on search and rescue, vent-enter-search techniques, fire suppression, and tower operations. Running these evolutions over multiple sessions ensures every member gets the repetitions needed to perform at the highest level.

This is one of two live burn training cycles our department conducts each year — a standard we hold because the work we do demands nothing less.
