In the wake of the recent tornado that impacted our community, we saw firsthand the incredible support and compassion provided by the American Red Cross. Their volunteers stepped in during a time of need to help families and individuals begin the recovery process — and we are so thankful for their assistance. ❤️

Now more than ever, communities need people who are willing to serve during emergencies and disasters. If you’ve ever considered becoming a Red Cross volunteer, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about how you can make a difference right here in our area.

To learn more about Red Cross volunteer opportunities and disaster response efforts, please join us at our next LEPC (Local Emergency Preparedness Committee) meeting:

📍 Linn County Health Department
📅 July 23rd
⏰ 12:00 PM

Whether you’re interested in disaster response, shelter support, community outreach, or simply learning how you can help during emergencies, we encourage you to attend!

Together, we can continue building a stronger, more prepared community. 💪

🌱 Growing More Than Just Food at Our Nutrition Nook! 🌱

Our Nutrition Nook garden is in full swing, and it’s doing so much more than providing fresh, healthy produce—it’s growing curiosity, confidence, and life skills in our youngest community members!

We love seeing kids get their hands in the dirt, learning where their food comes from, and taking pride in helping plant, water, and harvest. From seed to table, they’re discovering the importance of nutrition, sustainability, and teamwork in a fun and meaningful way.

The produce grown in our garden helps stock our Nutrition Nook and supports hands-on learning opportunities like food prep and preservation. It’s a full-circle moment—grown by the community, for the community. 💚

If you see our little gardeners hard at work, be sure to give them a wave—they’re planting the seeds for a healthier future! 🌼

Severe storms are possible late this afternoon into late tonight. Storms should enter into NE KS & NW MO sometime after 5 pm, likely congealing into a line of storms as they move east. Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat, but large hail & a few tornadoes will be possible.
