On view now in the Firehouse Arts Center lobby is Yi Ding's () solo exhibition, "Memory of Beijing - The Forbidden City." In this presentation of sixteen oil paintings, the artist approaches Beijing's Forbidden City not as a rigid monument, but as a living space filled with history, culture, and emotion. Dragons, guardian lions, birds, palace cats, and flowering magnolias become carriers of memory rather than mere illustrations of dynastic rule. Living between China and the United States, Ding views this landscape as both a symbol of heritage and a deeply personal sanctuary.

Coinciding with Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May, the exhibition will be on view in the Firehouse Arts Center lobby from May 9 to July 2.

Reception takes place June 6 from 1-3 PM.
