PUBLIC NOTICE
Temporary Road Closure and Water Service Interruption

The City of Pleasanton Public Works Department would like to notify residents and businesses that the intersection of East Hunt Street and Chapman Street will be temporarily closed due to water line construction.

Crews will be working on the new water line and will be installing a cross and isolation valves to tie in the new line and improve water circulation in the area.

Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026
Time: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: East Hunt Street and Chapman Street intersection

During this time, the following areas may be without water service:

City Hall
Pleasanton Express
Chapman Street
White Street
East Hunt Street

Residents and businesses in the affected area are encouraged to plan accordingly. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates everyone’s patience while crews complete this important water system improvement.

Hydrant excavation work will take place at the N Chapman Rd. & E. Hunt St. intersection from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM tomorrow, May 13.

⚠️ Entrance from Hwy 281 to N Chapman St. will also be closed
⚠️ No thru traffic will be allowed from E. Hunt St.
➑️ Motorists coming from E. Hunt will be detoured to River St. via Goodwin.

City Hall will remain accessible during this time.

Please use caution in the area and plan for alternate routes. We appreciate your patience!

Due to a contractor accidentally striking a water line near West Oaklawn Rd. & Wheeler Dr., businesses located in the shopping center will be temporarily without water service.

Service is expected to remain out through the end of today, with crews working to restore water service by tomorrow.

Road work will begin tomorrow, May 5 at 7:00 AM through end of day on Crestline Dr between Deer Run Rd and Live Oak Dr.

Crews will be applying P2 stabilization oil as part of roadway maintenance. Please avoid the area if possible and use posted detour routes while work is underway.

Today (04/29/23), Public Works crews will be conducting hydrant flushing in the area of River St. & Hunt St.

This flushing is part of the process for a new water line installation. During this time, residents may notice water along roadways and temporary pooling in the area. This is a normal part of the process.

Beginning Friday, April 17 at 7:00 AM, the intersection of E. Hunt St. and River St. will be closed for construction related to a new water line installation. The closure will remain in place through the end of the day.

Residents will need to use alternate routes, including Adams St. and Caldwell St., to access the other side of the river.
