Our department has received reports from residents who are receiving phone calls from a number that appears to be local and claiming to be a police department. The caller tells the recipient they have a warrant and demands payment.
This is a scam.
Law enforcement agencies will not call you to demand money or payment to resolve a warrant. Scammers often use “spoofed” phone numbers that make it appear the call is coming from a legitimate or local number.
If you receive a call like this:
• Do not provide personal or financial information
• Do not send money or make any payments
• Hang up immediately
If you believe you have been targeted by this scam or have already provided information or money, please contact your local police department to report it.
Please share this information to help others in our community avoid becoming victims.

Press Release: Domestic Violence Incident and SWAT Response

On 02/27/2026, at approximately 2300 hours, officers with the Pleasant View Police Department responded to a report of domestic violence at a residence located in the area of 3050 North 1325 West in Pleasant View.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with an adult female victim who reported she had been assaulted and strangled to unconsciousness by a male suspect inside the residence. After regaining consciousness, the victim fled the home and sought assistance at a neighboring residence, where 911 was contacted.

During the investigation, officers learned that a 13-year-old child remained inside the residence with the suspect. Due to the severity of the incident, concerns for the safety of the child, and the potential presence of fi****ms, the Ogden Metro SWAT team was activated and responded to the scene.

After establishing a secure perimeter, officers were able to safely remove the child from the residence without injury. The child had been asleep and was unaware the incident was taking place. The child was medically evaluated and later released to appropriate guardians.

Shortly thereafter, officers deployed a drone to make initial entry into the residence and assess conditions inside and located the adult male suspect deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and evaluation. Her current condition is stable.

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact the Pleasant View Police Department at 801-782-6736.

As we prepare for snow removal, we kindly ask all residents to ensure vehicles are parked off the street. This allows snow plows to fully clear the roads and helps prevent icy buildup.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping Pleasant View safe and accessible during winter weather. ❄️
