🚨 TROOP K TRAFFIC ALERT – DUTCHESS COUNTY

Tonight starting at 5:30 PM, a large transformer will be moved through Hyde Park, Pleasant Valley, and Lagrange, causing major traffic delays.

🚛 The move begins in Hyde Park and will affect:
• Route 9G
• Crumb Elbow Rd
• Netherwood Rd
• Salt Point Turnpike
• West Rd
• Routes 44 & 55 into Lagrange

The transformer moves very slowly and requires utility crews to lift power lines along the route.

⚠️ Please avoid these areas if possible and expect delays.

The transfer station will be closed Fri July 4th in observance of the holiday. And reopened Sat July 5th for regular operating hours.

Please be advised that on Monday, June 30, 2025, between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM, police, fire, EMS, and Central Hudson Gas & Electric crews will be present in the area of West Road Elementary School in Pleasant Valley as part of a planned emergency response exercise.

This Community Gas Emergency Response Exercise is only a drill and involves no actual gas leak or hazard. The exercise will include simulated emergency scenarios to help improve coordination, communication, and safety procedures among local responders and agencies.

You may notice increased first responder activity, emergency vehicles, and equipment in the area during this time. Please do not be alarmed—this is part of a pre-planned training event.

We thank you for your understanding and support as we work to enhance our community’s emergency preparedness.

The Transfer station will be CLOSED on Friday, July 4, 2025 in observance of Independence Day.

The Transfer station will resume normal business hours on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 7:30AM to 5:00PM.

***Weather Update for Sun-Mon*** as of 0730 2/16/25

Freezing rain in the area now will turn to rain by 9-10am this morning. Additional ice accretion this morning will be less than 0.05". Periods of rain will then occur for the rest of the day, ending around 5-6pm this evening. Rainfall today will be around 0.50". Winds today will be east at 10-15 mph turning to the west by late afternoon at 15-25 mph gusts to 35 mph. The wind will increase this evening to 20-30 mph gusts to 55 mph. The strong winds will last into most of Monday and will diminish by 6-7pm or so Monday evening. Temperatures will climb into the low 40s today, drop to near 20 for a low Monday morning and only reach the mid 20s for a high on Monday. Wind chills will be in the mid 30s this afternoon, drop to around 5 degrees by Monday morning and then around 10 degrees Monday afternoon.
